I love the fact that tonight's 'lifetime achievements' include Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and the woman who plays the bass on the Batman theme. Glen Miller suggested that last one.
The bass player in question is Carol Kaye. As it says on her website: " If you've listened to the radio or watched TV since 1958 then you've heard Carol Kaye play". Take a look at her website and see her list of credits. It's mindboggling. Glen has listed some of the song elsewhere on the blog. Have a look at post 71 to see them.

Superb shout by Glen and I have to say not that familiar with James Brown but Rythmheids suggestion was a belter!
Glens suggestion made me think of Steve Cropper who has played on a phenomenal amount of great songs.
