A slice of funk...
As well as connecting us to the digital future our audio trainee Ian has been keeping himself occupied during those late shifts. Armed only with a mobile phone camera and a Michael Jackson CD he showed us what really goes on at BBC HQ in the middle of the night. He has let me put this clip on the blog as long as I promise not to "steal his moves". He has clearly not seem many 43 year olds trying to dance or he would have realised that this would be a physical impossibility!

Apparently it was filmed on the day they were looking for a spokesman to comment on the Sachs affair.

I have never seen the BBC building looking so empty! Three thoughts strike:
1 - Not enough supervisory control is exercised vis-a-vis junior staff!
2 - Some people appear not to have enough work assigned...
3 - Let this guy have Jonathon Ross's job - he would do a better job anyway...

Any chance you can get Ian to wire up a http://last.fm feed? If it's good enough for the http://www.last.fm/user/bbc6music guys...
That way, we'll get:
1) automatic track listings for the programme
2) automatic stats, so we'll be able to see who the getiton listenership *really* like.

Broadcasting the sports programme seemed to stretch them last night. Let's keep it simple.
