Two of the greatest rivals have joined forces to take on the Strictly dancefloor! Yes, former-England Captain Michael Vaughan and Aussie dance-Queen Natalie Lowe have merged to become ‘Team Howznat’!

Michael has confessed to never dancing before, so, he must have been pleased when he was told by Len after his first dance that he looked good “in hold”.

Leave some love and support for ‘Team Howznat’ – they’ll be bowled over by it. Did you see what we did there?

Natalie has been my favourite choreographer ever since she joined the SCD team and I loved her work with Scott Maslen..

She's a fighter and has a steely determination..and I'm sure she'll get the best out of Michael..

I hoped that if there were to be a cricketer this year that it'd be Andrew Strauss, purely for aesthetic reasons..but Michael looked pretty cute on ITT this evening..

    Wishing them all the best!

hey norich - me too! Absolutely love Natalie, both as a dancer and choreographer. I still believe she & Ricky were the true champs in 2009, but let's put our energy into sending all our well wishes and votes her way this year! :)

I'm sure she'll help Michael to get his inner dancer out in the open! :) I think they have a great chance - just see how far she got Audley last year, despite everybody just talking about him being huge with big feet. :) Best of luck this year Michael & Natalie and hope to see you lift that Glitter Trophy!

I agree, they were robbed! :O)

However, I did love Chris & Ola too, particularly their Charleston..that is, if I'm not getting my series mixed up.

I do watch Ricky & Nat's "Paso," on You-tube even now and several of her dances with Scott..

Let's hope she can go all the way this time.

Hello :) This feels weird...not been on a SCD blog since 2010 when I was (and still am) a HUGE Matt Baker supporter.
Loved Michael as a cricketer, and am really pleased that he's doing Strictly this year. Think Natalie is the perfect partner for him and that they will work hard together to achieve some very impressive results. Looking forward to the Jive tonight...they are looking good! (and can't beat a bit of 80s cheesy music)

I liked their Jive - it was not a master piece but they had fun, they smiled and they had a good go! :) Loved Nat's choreography as per usual. ;) I think Michael just needs a week or two more to find his footing in the dance world, and like Dancercookie I'm sure Nat is the perfect guide for him! can unfort not vote fr Dub but all fingers crossed so hard it hurt and every available star in the sky is wished upon for the results to go their way tonight!

Michael certainly has an awful lot of work still to do but he has a fantastic teacher in Natalie - I think if he manages to stay in the competition for a couple more weeks Natalie will bring him up to scratch. I have high hopes for his ballroom especially and could end up a very eligant dancer. Standard seems to be extremely high this year!

I think Natalie really has her work cut out this year.

Michael comes across as such a lovely guy and interesting, as over the years, I've never heard him say much other than standard cricket interviews..

He doesn't look like a natural and throwing a jive at them this early was tough..but, we've seen this before, it's possible for people to "click," and I can't think of anyone better to achieve this with Michael than Natalie..

That said, awkward though it was, it was still great fun to watch, for me.

    Rich.

woop woop & CONGRATS Team Michalie or Howznat - I'm delighted you are back next week! (although I must say it was sad to see Johnny go I'm over the moon to see you're still with us.) Can't wait to see what you're going to show us next week! Hopefully they won't leave you hanging for quite so long before calling your names as safe next week!

I thought some of the judges were actually very hard on Michael on Saturday - I kow he didn't dance that well and he admitted as much himself but Natalie will be working extremely hard on his steps this week you can bet on it - I'm sure that we will see a good improvement on Saturday - he is a competitive sportsman and will want to do much much better in their next dance!

I'm hoping Michael is going to do much better in Hollywood week and that Natalie will be able to come up with a really great dance for Michael and they are able to put in a great amount of hard work . I still think that Jerry may leave this week but Michael will not be far behind her unless he starts upping his game I'm afraid. Being a sportsman he will be prepared for lots of hard work in training so I'm hoping for the best.

can't wait to see/hear (?) their performance tomorrow! :) Hope his timing and posture are good enough for week 3 for the judges so they at least can say SOMETHING positive about it... "Oh, Michael that was a huge improvement from last week! Well done!" would be nice to hear, don't you think? :):):) Sending "all the luck o' the Irish" your way Team Howznat! :)

sorry, clumsy fingers, I meant to add that I thought it was a fun and entertaining routine - as can be expected when it's the lovely Natalie who choreographs :) Best of luck with the votes tonight so you stay out of the dance-off tomorrow too! argh must wait a set amount of time before posting part 2 of my post,,,:P should teach me to be careful when I type so I don't post until I'm done. :)

Lovely to see you improving this week - great also to see how much you are obviously enjoying learning to dance with Natalie it really is a joy to see, even after the improvement I'm think you could be in the dance off - so hoping that you manage to get through to following week.
