Richard Arnold leaves Strictly

Richard Arnold has become the sixth contestant to leave Strictly Come Dancing. After a valiant performance, the judges were left not wanting more as Craig said: “it littered with timing issues sadly and it was very stompy, flat-footed.” Richard was called to the dancefloor and had to face Nicky Byrne in the dance-off.

After the judges unanimously voted to keep Nicky in the competition, an upbeat Richard reflected on his time and said...

“I've loved it. Do you know what is amazing about this experience is that this party is happening in millions of homes around the country. The one thing I'll take from it is that now when I walk down the street people no longer cross the road to avoid me! Now they smile, they want to chat. It's been amazing. You guys here have been amazing.”

Sad to see Richard leaving the competition, he has done so well and should be proud of what he has achieved on the show. Erin and Richard were so sweet at the end, it was lovely to see.

Oh no lost one of my favourite pro dancers...
Erin and Richard well done for getting this far you were both fantastic...
Richard your journey in the last 2 and half months has been great and from being totally not able to dance you can now dance better than most of the breakfast presenters... and you obviously adore Erin...

Erin you did it again.... how you manage to teach the celebs each year is brilliant... and here's one for you to wind Anton up with when you do your question and answer session on your tour... I've danced at Wembley as part of the competition and you haven't.... just when he winds you up...

Thank you for making Saturday night's so entertaining and making me smile...
    Love you both!!!

So sad to see Richard and Erin go - they weren't the best dancers but they were such an adorable couple and quite clearly adore each other. Well done to them both!

I don't understand why Craig only gave Denise and James a 9 - what more does he want? Oh, and can anyone tell me how to get tickets for Wembley Strictly next year please?

Aww, sad to see Richard leave the show tonight, but it was the right decision with who was in the dance off. He really seemed to enjoy every minute of the strictly experience. Look forward to seeing Richard and Erin on It Takes Two tomorrow.

Felt so sorry for Kimberley/Pasha being left to the last 2 to be called.

Please can Victoria go next week. Then Nicky, Michael, Kimberly then Lisa. That way we'll be left with Denise for 3rd place, Louis in 2nd place and Dani and Vincent as the winnrs.

Great show. Sorry to see Richard and Erin go but probably the right decision.Amazing how quiet the audience were when Kylie was singing. Perhaps other celebrities should follow her lead and bring their own dancers!!

Richard has been a joy to watch, camp and charming in every dance. I've never seen any contestant showing so much sheer delight in taking part in the show. I'll miss him!

How cruel to make Kimberley wait so long to hear if she is in the dance off, AND expect her to sing in between!!! I think she is great bless her. And as for Lisa, well power to us big girls!! Go girl!!! This really is one of the best Strictlys ever!!! Brill to have Claude back too!!

I was provoked to blog because of yet another 'swipe' at Louis on the results show. The judges were shown a sequence of him having fun on the Wembley dance floor (for once) and yet again it was interpreted as him misbehaving to the torment of poor, long-suffering Favia. Christopher Biggins's comment on It Takes Two that poor Favia was being given a hard time by her partner this series was way out of order. And sequences of Louis being a brat are no longer funny nor the 'leaks' about his timekeeping that I've seen on the net. It's all negative and damaging.

Louis wouldn't have achieved the performances he has so far in this series if he hadn't put in his share of hard work - not to mention the number of medals he has won in his gymnastics career - and let's remember he's only 23 years old.

The reason they were marked down this week was because Favia made a bad decision about choreographing a quickstep instead of a foxtrot, not because it was badly performed. As Len said, it disappointed expectation.

All the dancers now, except for Victoria and Louis, are people who are used to performing in front of audiences and cameras. So I think it's time the badmouthing stopped and the team supported Louis and encouraged him to give the performance that we all want to see. He has great potential still and that's exciting. He must bring a new demographic to the viewing audience and I know that, if he leaves, I won't be so keen to stay in Saturday nights.

Can't understand the judges giving Kimberly only 2 more than Lisa. All Lisa's dances look the same and her samba rolls were hard to spot. I think the judges need to critisize her mistakes as they do with the others. So disappointed with them don't think I'll be watching many more.

Denise van Outen played Roxie Hart Chicago at West End/Broadway. Out of Sylvia Young Theatre School. An unfair advantage to the other less experienced celebrities or what? It rather makes a farce of the word 'competition', as all participants should begin on as level a playing field as possible.
