Leaderboard: Week Seven

There was drama aplenty even before the Week Seven Live Show got underway, as poor Natalie fainted during the dress run, and was told not to perform.

With a tantalising trip to the spiritual home of Ballroom, Blackpool for those who make it through to next week, the pressure was really on for the nine remaining couples.

Patrick and Anya may have been last to perform on the night, but their amazing American Smooth to ‘It had To be You’ topped the Leaderboard with 37, with Darcey giving them their first 10 of the series. Not bad for a man who achieved his half-century this week!

Leaderboard Week Seven

Two couples scored one point less than Team PatAnya, Abbey and Aljaz’s 1920s themed Charleston to ‘Cabaret’ wowed the Judges with plenty of quick, intricate footwork, whilst Susanna and Kevin’s beautiful Waltz had Craig purring to the BBC Breakfast presenter “You brought the frock to life!”.

The bottom of the scoreboard once again features Dave and Karen, their Scottish inspired Tango to ‘500 Miles’ wasn’t well received scoring them 20, with Bruno comparing him to former Strictly competitor John Sargeant – ouch!

Just above them are Mark and Iveta, their Rumba to ‘Goldfinger’ scored 23 and had Len exclaiming “you might have gold in your fingers, but you’ve got a bit of lead in your bum!”.

Who do you think deserves to be saved? And who will be plunged into the dreaded Dance Off, let us know what you think?

Beautiful dance by Susanna and Kevin. Disappointed not to see Natalie's jive - perhaps we'll see it at Blackpool? Thought the judges were harsh again with Sophie - I think she is REALLY trying, and I loved Brendan's choreography for their Argentine tango - not an easy dance for professionals let alone celebrities (unless you are Flavia and Vincent who are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!)

A breath of fresh air to have Patrick at the top of the leaderboard. I was getting used to seeing the girls at the top!

Great show once again, while watching from The Netherlands. I hope the British value the quality of the dancing as their main criteria this week. Was certainly disappointing last week to see Rachel leave. Remember, this is a dancing contest. For stand up comedy the BBC has other excellent programs.

No artem and natalie won't be dancing the jive in Blackpool because in the year that Tina O'brian had to miss a week with chicken pox she had to do a new dance the week that she was back because otherwise they have had two weeks to learn one dance. I just hope that natalie and artem stay next week and don't get voted off for missing a week like miss dynamic on xfactor. I really hope that what John barrowman said will not come true.

Some good performances tonight, glad to see Abbey and Aljaz doing so well after being in the dance off last week. Felt people upped their game tonight. Really hope that there aren't any horrible surprises in the dance off tomorrow.
