Cool, sunny, layers needed. Morning to all, another autumnal week beckons (almost dark by the time I get home-boo indeed). Hope weekend hit the spot. Wrote a bit yesterday (actually most of the day, a tricky bit of explanation to do) and managed to got to the football with child 2. Hadn't managed it for a while but everything was lovely and goals were cheered, victory over Norwich secured. Only sour taste was the gums which cost me £2.30 and then had the nerve to have no green ones and no black ones, the only ones I like. Calamity. Football is expensive enough without paying for the wrong sort of wine gums. Child 2's party progressed well, even if albums were played at 45 and no one noticed. Ho hum.
Top week coming up and the book club offers you More Than This by Patrick Ness. It is my favourite this year and IMHO, a masterpiece. The stunning opening chapter is on these pages and here Patrick from 6. But here's the thing. You don't need to know anything about it, just read it. Reviews might spoil it. So we discuss the price of cabbages instead. I've been a fan of Patrick's since the extraordinary Knife of Never Letting Go so been looking forward to this for a while. Hope you enjoy.
And we'll do PLASTIC BAG oldies please, as charges in England are announced for big shops but not small ones. I always forget the cloth bag bought for just this purpose so this is for me I think. Some plastic pop needed!
Have a well-heeled and respectable Monday, see you after 5

Morning all. Lovely fresh day here - leaves starting to fall, and a definite nip in the air but it looks bright enough, so we have the promise of some warmth at lunch time.

I guess anything by the PLASTIC ONO BAND, but I don't really have time to think about tune titles so will love you and leave you all till much later.
Have a good day one and all.

    Morning all,

Back at work after a very relaxing week off. Didn't end up going away in the end, but plenty of chilling out at home in between the DIY tasks and I feel suitably refreshed enough not to have had the Monday morning blues when I woke up today.

Plastic bags are horrible things - I try to remember to take our 'proper' bags when we go to the shops. In fact, they are often put back in the car immediately after emptying them, though on more than one occasion that has necessitated a quick sprint from checkout to car and back when we realise that we've forgotten to bring them in.

Not the most obvious topic for choons, though thinking about the long-lasting, re-usable ones the first thing that sprang to mind was

MANIC STREET PREACHERS - A Design for Life

    Maybe back after a think...

As they tend to break if overloaded:

Handle With Care - Traveling Wilburys

There's a comedy song called It's Plastic which used to be played on Junior Choice but I can't remember the artist...

hello all: it's going to be a big week, getting busier day by day with the crescendo of "off to university at the weekend"... of course it might be the absolute stimulus for DTO creativity, but the only thing that springs to mind is:

    BLACK RUBBER BAG - PIL
    WASTELAND - THE MISION

it's all gone a bit dark...

Good morning all - it is a lovely bright day here but it is a bit nippy!!

The wedding that you went to over the weekend,Jilly, sounds very special and 'natural' - not an overblown, expensive show that can be the case these days.

When we used to go to the store to do the shopping, we had 'Bags for Life' which were well used, but now we do most of our grocery shopping online. I have opted to receive the shopping with/without bags - and no matter which I choose, I still get bags - I do try!!

    So choons -

    PACK UP - ELIZA DOOLITTLE

THINK I'LL PACK MY BAGS - ROD STEWART

LEADER OF THE PACK - THE SHANGRI-LAS

    Hi Simon and everyone

Glad Spurs won again Simon, my oh my aren't they doing extremely well of late, only dampener for you is that their North London rivals are sitting pretty in top spot! Slightly worried that Mourinhio faced his first defeat upon returning to the Bridge.

Ms Watts has just been interviewed on TV and it would appear her interview was cut short again as there wasn't the usual ending of most interviews and she did seem rather uncomfortable..which begs the question why the hell did she accept the role in the first place..i tell you why ...MONEY.... she thought as Diana was such an icon she thought the film would be a blockbuster...WRONG!!!!

My Great Nephew came into the world on Saturday night weighing 7lbs 6oz called Mason and my Niece's 2nd child and the 4th attempt after 3 miscarriages! Mason is his name and is so perfect!

    Now tunes:

    1. BAG IT UP - Geri Halliwell
    2. FILL ME IN - Craig David
    3. Ca plane pour moi - PLASTIC Bertrand
    4. THROW IT ALL AWAY - Genesis
    5. RIP IT UP - Orange Juice
    6. CHIRPY CHIRPY CHEAP CHEAP - Middle of the road
    7. MONEY FOR NOTHING - Dire Straits
    8. EVERYTHING MUST CHANGE - Paul Young
    9. WHAT A WASTE - Ian Jury and the blockheads
    10. PENNY LANE - The Beatles

    Good morning all!

After a gloriously sunny break in the Ionian, we are now sitting around waiting for our flight home, so I thought I'd see what you have all been up to. BTW, it is now raining here, warm rain admittedly, with a bit of wind and thunder thrown in. So I am slowly acclimatising for home! :-)

    Plastic bag oldies?

MONEY FOR NOTHING - SQUEEZE ? (The bags you get in the supermarkets tend to disintegrate before our very eyes)
