I have a precious memory of your voice on the radio. I was in hospital a long time around the birth of my eldest child (now 16). As I was ill enough to rate a room to myself, and was separated from my baby, I was allowed a radio by the bed. The feeling of reassurance and normality I had the first morning as I listened to your familiar voice cannot be described.

Farewell and good wishes for your next chapter. Thanks for all the giggles, news and being an Icon of the best radio broadcasting in the world. You will be greatly missed but always appreciated.

What a sad day for all your loyal listeners that your authoritative, crystal clear and neutral delivery on the Today programme and news will be absent. I wish you all the very best, and hope that you find great success as a free-lancer, both back for the BBC and further afield. Perhaps you can become the new voice of Marks and Spencer or John Lewis's, or some other equally solid British Institutions? Whatever the offers, I am sure you will relish some of the additional freedom these new opportunities will bring - and have fun! Very best wishes.

Charlotte Green has been with me when I woke up and when I've gone to bed. She has been with me all day sometimes. How will we be able to continue without her dulcit tones and occosional charming lapses into giggles. Seldom has a radio personality made such a strong impact on listerers to any radio programme I and millions of others will miss her greatly. I'm sure she will be deluged by compliments from others but as a Radio 4 listener for decades I hope she will continue to guest and even have her own show. Why not ?

So sorry you are leaving us Charlotte but wishing you all the best for the future. I loved our brief email correspondences about how to pronounce names in Burmese - it was like interactive radio!

You've been on the Today programme, news bulletins and announcement as long as I've had ears to listen with. This really does feel like the end of an era. So long, enjoy your retirement, put your feet up and let life really begin. :-)

One of the most distinctive voices on radio, yet never getting in the way of the News ... who else can compare? We will miss you, dear Seagreen, and hope that - like Sir Donaldson - you will make the odd 'consultancy' appearance just to keep us on our toes. Don't forget to let us know what your next venture is going to be. Because we really do care, y'know!

Goodbye Charlotte! I'm 27 and I can't remember Radio 4 without you. I've been forced to listen to Radio 4 all my life by my parents, and now I listen because I think it's good!

Having completed a long day as Output Editor of Newsnight, I'd make it home exhausted for cheese on toast as Charlotte Green read the Midnight News on Radio 4. Thank you and good luck in everything you do

I will very much miss hearing your dulcet and mellifluous voice on R4. Thank you for your many years on air. Every time I hear you I smile and relax a little, feeling that All is Right with the World. All best wishes for whatever the future holds for you.
