Richard Banks Richard Banks Senior Producer

It’s hard to believe that we’re already seven episodes into our 50-part series. The weeks are flying by and it’s been gratifying browsing the great feedback you’ve been sending us each week, not to mention reading and listening to the musical memories and reminiscences you’ve been submitting.

One of the most enjoyable aspects has been interacting with listeners on Twitter (@bbcpeoplessongs) every Wednesday night while the programme goes out. You can also tweet presenter Stuart Maconie (@stuartmaconie) - we know for a fact he tunes in every week...

Of course, we know not everyone is able to join us at 10pm on a weeknight. If you can’t listen live, don’t forget you can always listen afterwards on BBC iPlayer Radio online or on your mobile. In fact, we have extended the availability of the series, meaning you can stream any episode in full for free until The People’s Songs comes to an end in December 2013 (so if you’re reading this in November and you’ve only just discovered the series, what are you waiting for? You’ve got 40 or so shows to catch up on!)

Some listeners have asked whether it’s possible to subscribe to a podcast of the series. Unfortunately, we’re not able to offer the programme in this way. However, from today you will be able to download and own episodes of The People’s Songs for a small fee.

Each show will be available to buy a week after its first broadcast on Radio 2. If an episode is available, you'll see a link labelled 'Buy Online' on its page. Click through to download an MP3 from the providers listed. Alternatively, you'll find a link to a list of all episodes which are available to buy on The People's Songs homepage.

You can transfer MP3 files to most mobile or portable devices and listen on the move, wherever and whenever suits you.

Please note - the MP3 downloads will not include all of the music that you hear in the full programme, because of rights restrictions. Some songs will be shortened or removed.
