    For the Kermodes:
Best Director - Christopher Nolan - Inception
Best Screenplay - Made in Dagenham
Best Actress - Sally Hawkins - Made in Dagenham
Best Supporting Actor - Andrew Garfield - The Social Network
Best Animated Film - Chico and Rita
Best Documentary - Oil City Confidential

If I was doing an award ceremony for films not nominated for the Oscars I would choose:
    Best Picture - Kick-Ass
Best Director - Christopher Nolan - Inception
Best Actor - Ryan Reynolds - Buried
Best Actress - Hailee Steinfeld - True Grit (nominated at the Oscars but in the wrong category)
Best Supporting Actor - Justin Timberlake - The Social Network
Best Supporting Actress - Chloe Grace Moretz - Kick-Ass
Best Animated Film - A Town Called Panic
Best Original Screenplay - Four Lions
    Best Adapted Screenplay - Kick-Ass
Best Music - Scott Pilgrim vs The World

My thoughts in regards to the much unrecognised Kermode awards.

Best Director - Christopher Nolan - Inception
Best Actress - Natalie Portman - Black Swan
Best Supporting Actor - Christian Bale - The Fighter
Best Animated Film - Toy Story 3
Best Screenplay - David Seidler - The Kings Speech
    Best Documentary - Inside Job

Best Director - Chris Nolan for Inception
Best Actress - Sally Hawkins for Made in Dagenham
Best Supporting Actor - John Hawkes for Winter's Bone
Best Animation - Toy Story 3
    Best Documentary - Restrepo

Drawing a blank on best screenplay.

I personally (desperately) want Toy Story 3 to win Best Picture at the Oscars. It would acknowledge the power and importance of that trilogy and would give it extra clout being the first ever animated Best Picture winner!

The main rule 'You can't win an award for a category that you have been nominated for at the oscars'.

Oh and categories I couldn't think of
Best Supporting Actor - Andrew Garfield (Social Network)
Best Documentary - Oil City Confidential

    @ Diarmaid Hanly

Yeah, it was my favourite film of 2010 as well. I just recently watched a couple of YouTube critics saying Toy Story 3 has no place in Best Film because it has its own special category - which really annoyed me, because a film using a different medium shouldn't necessarily have to be confined to a different category.

I mean, I can see a case for Documentary being cordoned off because it's an attempt to record real life, but I could be persuaded away from that position.

What do you think? Are some of these separate categories a way to recognise the unique qualities of different forms of filmmaking? Or a way for the elites in the Academy to suppress different art forms?

    Okay, here we go...

Best Director - Christopher Nolan (Inception)
Best Actress - Sally Hawkins (Made in Dagenham)
Best Supporting Actor - Matt Damon (True Grit)
Best Animation - Chico and Rita
Best Documentary - Oil City Confidential (Julian Temple)
Best Screenplay - Etienne Comar (Of Gods and Men)

Fellowship Award - William (Billy, to you Dr K) Friedkin

...close or am I wearing egg?

Completely agree with Post 7, came up with same ideas before I even read the comments.

    Best Director - Christopher Nolan
    Best Actress - Sally Hawkins
Best Supporting Actor - Matt Damon
Best Animation - Chico and Rita
Best Documentary - Oil City Confidential
Best Screenplay - Of Gods and Men

Fellowship - Well it's surely about time Mr. Friedkin got what's coming to him.

Yes, I agree with others on a lot of the Kermode Awards:
Best Director - Christopher Nolan (without a shadow of a doubt!)
Best Actress - Sally Hawkins for Made in Dagenham
Best Supporting Actor - Matt Damon for True Grit or possibly John Hawkes for Winter's Bone
Best Animation - Chico & Rita but you did love Toy Story 3, then again you may want to be different?(argh! I don't know!)
    Best Documentary - Restrepo
Best Screenplay - The Social Network

And once again you WON'T be able to watch the Oscars if you rely on the BBC, as they don't have the rights, for something like the 8th year in a row.

Hmm... Fellowship award: George Lucas. Without him, Pixar wouldn't exist, without Pixar, the Doc's beloved Toy Story 3 wouldn't exist.

Oh, and the Doc doesn't mind the "...dark, weird and menacing" (Radio 1, spring '99) The Empire Strikes Back, either.

Sorry, but I just wanted to remind people of the only rule in the Kermode:

You can't win a Kermode in a Category in which you have been Oscar nominated

    Best Director: Christoper Nolan. Duh!

Best Animated: Chico and Rita. I am not sure if it's had a US release and therefore not nominated for Oscar for that reason but I wouldn't put it past Kermode to flout his own rules and pick it anyway. (antimode's pick: antimode doesnt watch animated features)

Best Actress: Hailee Steinfeld (antimode's pick: Noomi Rapace)

Best Documentary: Is Kermode going to pull another fast one (like above) and claim 127 hours was a documentary?? (antimode's pick: The Art of the Steal)

Best Supporting Actor: Andrew Garfield (antimode's pick: MAaaaa Daamoh)

Best Screenplay: I'll take a punt on Made in Dagenham. You know it's going to feature in the Kermodes somewhere. (antimode: Girl with Dragon Tat)

    Kermode Fellowship: Terence Davies
but it could be any of the Usual Suspects: David Lynch, Guillermo Del Toro, Bill Forsyth, Werner Herzog or maybe new buddy Oliver Stone (Terry Gilliam, Ken Russell already recognized). Trillion to 1 outsider: Danny Dyer

    Best Director - Don't Care
    Best Screenplay - Don't Care
    Best Actress - Don't Care
Best Supporting Actor - Don't Care
Best Animated Film - Don't Care
    Best Documentary - Don't Care

I hate award seasons, I've never watched any, and I don't plan to this year or in the future. I don't see the point of back slapping shows, they don't prove anything, I won't watch the a lot of the so called award winning movies, and the Kermode awards is another pointless consolation prize for losers.
