On 2.30pm at Tuesday 3 January, I sent out my last Stephen Lawrence trial tweet:
"#stephenlawrence jury coming in - could verdict be imminent? - watch #BBCNewschannel."
Then the tables turned - the Twitter stream shifting from a tool to a source as I relied on it for hours of live commentary.

Does Twitter help or hinder the business of reporting a trial in Britain?
I'm not a legal expert. I'm not even a regular court reporter. But I was one of the BBC team covering the Stephen Lawrence murder trial at the Old Bailey in November.
I am also the BBC broadcaster who used Twitter to break news...
