The @ShoePigeon Will Rise
What the... ?

Did Hal just... ?

SERIOUSLY?!?

Rook is presumably breaking some very sad, very plausible, very untrue news to Vince Noir at this very minute... but we want you to tell us what you thought of tonight's episode.

Comment away, Being Humaniacs...

MrsBarrowboy yes I think your'e right. Inflicting death on someone is the same no matter what. I'm interested to find out why it was he didn't just let it go at frightening the s**t out of Larry as that is obviously what he did with a flash of the black eyes and teeth. Maybe its not so easy to put the beast away once its let loose.

If Tom and Alex are to find out about the Rooks involvement in clearing up Hals mess I guess it will be some episodes yet before they find out. That could be the knowledge that Captain Hatch needs to drive the wedge between the trinity. Alex will freak. At the moment their relationship just seems to be getting stronger.

Good points @Ruth. Would Alex and Tom ever trust Hal again if they found out?

@Scottish Lass Parting will be such sweet, sweet sorrow... but let's live in 'The Now' until the final episode. Toby Whithouse won't want to end the show on anything less than the finest of forms.

The way this episode exploded in the last ten minutes was brilliant. You just sense the rumblings of the beginning of the end for our three heroes. So glad Mr Rook survived. Feel a bit sorry for him!

It's shameful that this programme is being cancelled. Best thing on TV at the moment.

Can't help thinking Hal has handed himself to Rook as a hostage to fortune, by enlisting his help to dispose of Larry.

Not sure where Toby will take this (it will almost certainly be more inventive and 'out of the box' than I can conceive of), but echoes of the Mitchell climax seem to be in the air. It's not about how well meaning or desperate a vampire is to be 'good'. Nor how noble a nature they have, their sense of justice and compassion, or their ability to love. Resist as heroically as they may, vampires cannot ultimately overcome their essential predatory, violent nature. Lady Mary was right about Hal, and Alex & Tom are going to have to confront that they cannot take responsibility for him, cannot contain his danger, cannot 'love' him into redemption through their friendship, just as Annie and George had to with Mitchell. The fact that Hatch (and Rook) is in the equation this time though offers the opportunity for some kind of 'Toby twist' in the resolution I can't wait to see.

Just for a moment I thought Rook would kill himself, and fail to cross over, giving Alex a chance to confront him, and her desire for revenge, directly. I could even see them as some kind of sparring ghosty couple (prim, buttoned up bloke, and warm, empathic, spontaneous young woman - not like that's ever been done, is it ? :-) ).

Think I'm glad I was totally wrong.

Just a thought that sprung to mind with the discussion: is it worse to kill someone to drink their blood? Reminded me of Ivan & his little anecdote about the alcoholic who convinced himself that advocaat wasn't alcohol. I think it's a little lie that Hal tells himself, a bit like Mitchell & all the good little things he did, somehow off-setting the killing. I don't kill to drink their blood so I haven't gone back to my old ways. Something to ponder...

Just popped back here to catch up on what happened after I switched to new blog

@timeandtide that remark was made a few times in Buffy and Angel, "you've saved the world a few times so you must be ahead by the numbers"

@Mrsbarrowboy: yes, it is quite a familiar theme. Hal repeated it quite a few times and so he clearly clings to this little lie. I wonder if Tom & Alex will agree with him?

Have to echo everyone's sentiments - what a wonderful episode! This show has so much more to give, there are so many avenues and histories and channels it could go down that it could keep going for years - I do believe Lord T has only scratched the surface so far, so sad it's going to end so very soon - but lets enjoy the remaining 3 - top performances by all 3 of our trinity - just fall more and more in love with their characters every weekend - Tom was so sweet, just wanted to put a protective arm around him - Alex is rising to the challenge now and using her powers to protect her boys and Hal, well what can I say - he is just so fabulous, the acting is brilliant and I just love the many different faces of Hal and he was so sensitive to Tom's feelings - the friendship that we saw with our old trio was definitely confirmed in last night;s episode - bravo to them all, wonderful, wonderful entertainment. Booo to BBC3 - poor show from you chaps, you should recognise class when you have it and Being Human is certainly that.

Wow! That was epic....and not a devil in sight. We're half way through the series already.....but so much seems to have happened that it's hard to believe that we've only had 3 eps.
Aw......poor Tom. He so desperately deserves some good times. He broke my heart in the scene in the woods and it was lovely to get some proper friendship moments. I think he's growing up though.....couldn't help thinking that he knew Larry was a fraud, he just really wanted to believe in him. Larry so deserved what he got!
Lady Mary was excellent, and I can't believe how much I laughed when Tom was fighting with the stake.
    But.......what an ending. Just fantastic!

By the way Steve.....love the picture.

I can't believe Hal let Larry provoke him like that!! But you have to commend him for not drinking his blood though! I'm glad he stopped Rook from killing himself too XD

Ehem frankly I'm still in shock?
First impression TOM TOM TOOOOOMHMMM Big well done to Michael Socha, his episode by a mile!
Alex is developing into the moral compass first with Hal/Mary and later with Tom.

Loved the tent scenes, the costumes from tweed suits to aprons and dressing gowns, well done!

Oh and love to see the bad Hal and Rook story line continue. Which reminds me, better turn your phone off when youre about to do something important ...

Oh dear! I keep flashing back to the last vampire to fall of the wagon. Here's hoping Hal doesn't end up killed by his friends or evil. Honestly I love OCD Hal way more than evil Hal. There are a million evil vampires out there in loads of different shows but posh, OCD Hal beats them all.
