BH2: NEARING THE END

We're in the mood for a song today. Let's see, how does that old Sinatra track go again? Oh yes, I remember...

"And now... the end is near..." *sniff*

Ok, must stop now before we get all wistful, because with only a dozen BH2 shooting days left our emotions are running high. Time to look back on a fantastic production period and get excited about how close we are to unveiling series two in all its glory in early 2010.

At this crucial time we thought it was only fitting to get Aidan, Lenora and Russell together once again to give us their thoughts on how the production has gone and how they're feeling about leaving the big bad world of the Being Human set.

We'll blogging miss them when they're gone...

BH2: SERIES 2 FIRST LOOK

After months of writing, shooting and editing, the first three episodes of Being Human Series Two are nearly complete. We dragged Director Colin Teague out of the edit to tell us what to expect... and it sounds like it's going to be much darker.

BH2: MEET DEREK...

On any Being Human shoot there are two important locations...

The first is the set itself, where the cameras, crew and actors do their thing. The second is the unit base, a massive 'travelling circus' of lorries that set up close by to house the production team. This is where shoots are planned, actors are rushed into make-up and, most importantly, Tom the runner refills his tea urn.

The man in charge of keeping the unit base running smoothly is everyone's farourite 2nd Assistant Director, Derek, and he kindly agreed to spend a day showing us around.

Now, he looks like a nice guy, but if you don't keep to his schedule... well, let's put it this way, they don't call him 'Mad Axeman Derek' for nothing. Oh, wait, actually I'm being told they don't call him that. But he will give you a VERY ANGRY LOOK.

Be warned.

BEING HUMAN USA

The rumour mill is working overtime with talk of an American remake of Being Human so we here at the BH Blog thought we'd get to the bottom of it. We spoke to Executive Producer Rob Pursey and asked for the latest news...

"You've probably heard that there will be an American version of Being Human. We think it's a testament to the power of our series that another version will happen. It will be different, though it will be recognisable. We hope it will be brilliant, and we hope you like it when it comes. But it won't affect the show we are making here and now."

Writers, casting and storylines are yet to be confirmed, but you can expect thirteen episodes coming to American screens soon. And don't worry, it's not going to impact on the British show so you can still expect a full quality second series when it airs here in the UK at the start of 2010.

Only one more day to go until the fangs go in, the claws come out and the dead rise from the earth to have one hell of a party. BUT before rounding off our Halloween Week here on the blog we had one final task... to ask Aidan, Russell and Lenora for their favourite Halloween memories.

BH2: MAKE A BEING HUMAN PUMPKIN

Be honest, what is Halloween without a pumpkin? Nothing. Nada. Zip. *insert another word for 'nothing' here* So we here at BH Blog Towers have created this handy picture guide to get you making your very own Being Human pumpkin. Good luck!

Step1 - The easiest step... Get a pumpkin.

Step 2 - Cut a hole in the top with a knife. BE CAREFUL! Fingerless gloves don't really work if you chop off your fingers.

Step 3 - Scoop out the insides of the pumpkin and get rid... eurgh.

Step 4 - Print off the Being Human name...

Step 5 - Stick it to your pumpkin. It doesn't look too impressive at this stage, but it gets better...

Step 6 - Using a compass, cocktail stick, or other pointy instrument, carefully poke holes around the edges of your design...

Step 7 - Use a knife or specialist pumpkin carving tool (we found ours in the supermarket) to join the dots...

Step 8 - Add light and... voila! You are a pumpkin-carving god!

It's a big challenge for Nina and an even bigger challenge for the woman behind Nina... the legendary Sinead Keenan. We caught up with her on the set of series two to find out how she's getting on with job...

BH2: MEET TOM THE RUNNER

It's time now to introduce a new face from the Being Human family... it's Tom, the ultra hard-working runner!

As a runner, Tom carries out glamorous jobs including fetching stuff, carrying stuff, holding stuff and getting told off by producer Matt Bouch for not getting his (and I quote) "DAMN ESPRESSO I ASKED FOR TEN MINUTES AGO".

But worry not, despite all this Tom works with one of the biggest smiles on the production, and has kindly let the BH Blog team follow him for an entire day.

We promise we didn't just do it for the free tea and biscuits. Honest.

BH2: THE TRIO VISIT BBC HQ

They may have had a day off from filming, but it was all work, work, work for Aidan, Russell and Lenora this week, as they gave a presentation to BBC insiders about the new series.

However, a trip to the beeb headquarters wouldn't be the same without a bit of mischief, so Russell got his phone out to snap a cheeky video with Aidan and Lenora about how the session went. After all, you didn't think they'd leave the blog fans out of the fun did you??

Anyway, it wasn't long before Aidan started hogging the camera... then spinning it round... then interrupting Lenora... then oh my goodness there's a reason why we usually do the filming *slaps forehead*.

BH2: THE NIGHT SHOOT

A spooky, kickass drama like Being Human would not be spooky and/or kickass without one key ingredient... the night.

Yes, setting a scene in the dark of night sounds simple, but the reality is altogether more complicated. Well, we say complicated, what we actually mean is tiring. Everyone from the cast and crew to the security guards and, of course, the tea lady have to alter their sleep patterns and work a totally different schedule to maximise the time between dusk and dawn.

This week we caught up with the gang in a car park in Bristol to find out how this punishing 8pm - 5am shooting schedule was taking its toll.
