  • Comment number 1.

So here you have a key to the symbols you already know. But hopefully it's more clear, and you can work through it. Let the decoding begin!

  • Comment number 2.

    Thank you
Now time to go to work.

  • Comment number 3.

We know these stories...hang on while I phone the chemists, truckload of headache remedies need to be delivered...

  • Comment number 4.

    Arm plus Death = Killed
    Nemesis could be dead?

  • Comment number 5.

    So scroll 1

    Trinity
    Vampire
    Lovers
    house
    Moon

    Scroll 2

    Moon
    Vampire
Yet to be clarified - Unity?
    Killed

    Scroll 3

    Special Vampire or Vampires plural?
    Death in the home
    Killed.

  • Comment number 6.

Nemesis = brings death? Vampires bring about their own destruction with fire?

  • Comment number 7.

What is that unknown figure in Scroll 2? The maker of twins is dead?

  • Comment number 8.

Hello everyone! I'm quite new here... I left a couple of posts in the past but mostly I've been a lurker. Anyway this whole scroll-decoding mistery is getting more and more intriguing so I decided to throw in my two cents and try and figure it out.
Judging by the fact that we're supposed to know these stories already and that they're not impacting upon the War Child, being only "related" to it, I think the first scroll simply tells the story of our trio living together in the same house.

There's the trinity, the symbol for house and the one for vampire. As for the other two:
I think one of them seems to be a man inside the moon-->werewolf most likely. So that lives the other one as the ghost.

As for the second scroll I'd say it's a werewolf killing a vampire. So I'm guessing George killing Mitchell. Or maybe George killing Herrick during first season. I'm puzzled by the other symbol though. Maybe it means "love" as in "George killed Mitchell out of love"?

Scroll 3: I don't really understand that one, but maybe it refers to Lucy and Kemp killing all the vampires with an explosion (=symbol for fire)?? Maybe the symbol in the upper corner means "vampireS (plural)".

Sorry for the long post... I'm not sure it even makes sense.

P.S. Hiya MancVamp *waves! We talked on Twitter.

  • Comment number 9.

*I obviously meant "leaves the other one as "ghost" not "lives!! sorry

  • Comment number 10.

    scroll one
in a HOUSE , a Vampire ... killed?... a man of the moon... a werewolf? - man symbol lying across the moon symbol
... in a fight? - front to front man to man symbol?- was it an accident???

    scroll two
a - this time- standing werewolf - so 'live werewolf 'kills- 'arm of death' a vampire...in order to protect a baby???

    scroll three
there will be a fire intended to burn to harm in a house- a house will be set on fire - the vampire who is the intended victim? a vampire at one point will be the victim of an arson???

  • Comment number 11.

They could be as simple as telling the story so far, but the Old Ones were already on their way...secret war and all that...

  • Comment number 12.

    or we can say
    scroll one
theer was a supernatural trinity , among them a vampire who lived in a house, theer were 2 men and the werewolf was dying or dead?
    scroll two
a ghost protecting a baby and a werewold-f- not dead this one- went on killing vampires?
    scroll three
fire was intended to kill and set in a house where death had happened, the death of a vampire???

  • Comment number 13.

    Woooo! I got "Killed" correct.

  • Comment number 14.

The third one is about the bomb in the funeral parlour. I think these are all from previous seasons.

  • Comment number 15.

Thanks so much for the key, now hopefully we can get these scrolls solved although by the looks of things some people were very close already :)

  • Comment number 16.

Scroll One: Supernatural Trinity - a Ghost, a Werewolf and a Vampire live in a house.
(I still think the interlocked symbol means Friendship).

Scroll Two: A Werewolf kills a Vampire
(still unsure on the enclosed yin yang symbol - I think this is the Ghost symbol though, not the one on the previous scroll).

Scroll Three: A Vampire's end comes when they're killed by fire in a place of death.

  • Comment number 17.

@fiona 14 - I totally agree with you! Happy I'm not the only one who thought the third scroll referred to the bomb. Maybe the symbol of death inside a house could stand for "funeral parlour"!

  • Comment number 18.

14 17. I said that on the previous blog! Happy to see I'm not alone!

  • Comment number 19.

    14 - That's what I think as well.

The first scroll is about our Vampire, Werewolf and Ghost meeting up forming the trinity in their house.

Second scroll could be Werewolf kills Vampire (George killing Herrick)
or Werewolf killed by vampire (Nina) The other symbol could mean mother?

And the third scroll could be about Vampires killed with fire in a house of death or it could be something still to come.

  • Comment number 20.

    18. Sorry if it was said already. I must've missed the comment where you said it Min

  • Comment number 21.

Exactly - the comment below the images says "you know these stories" ie, they are about previous seasons and storylines we've watched. Glad people agree with me. :-)

  • Comment number 22.

I thought most of the scrolls were supposed to be about what's GOING to happen? *goes for a lie down*

  • Comment number 23.

Hi All. Well that's it! No MORE CLUES FOR YOU.

And Yes yekim_mikey, this is what's going to happen... remember there are 5 to go. x

  • Comment number 24.

    ok

    scroll one- we agree

there was a trinity who lived in a house and a vampire and a werewolf were like brothers
the unknown symbol would be 'feeling like brothers, being like brothers'

George/Mitchell friendship, but where is Annie, the ghost ... unless the nipple is a ghost? because it is not seen but guessed??? is it a nipple?

    scroll two

a werewolf killed/kills vampires in order to protect a baby who is in the charge of a ghost- ghost because dotted lines instead of straight inking

    scroll three

a fire was intended to harm/killed in a house of death- the funeral parlor, it killed numerous vampires

a dead vampire symbol being the vampire above the sandtimer
what means the nipple, we know Cessna planted the bomb

  • Comment number 25.

    @yekim

I understand and feel your pain

I thought first it was the past as... we know these stories but next thing...

And Yes yekim_mikey, this is what's going to happen?

so the scrolls are about the future???

    so scroll one
there is a trinity where a vampire and a werewolf learn to become like brothers as they live in the same house?

    scroll two
a werewolf kills vampires in order to protect a baby who is under the guardianship of a ghost
Tom kills vamps in order to protect Eveand Annie

    scroll three
a big fire is intended to kill in a house of death- a house where death happened/happens?
Tom plans to set fire to a place where werelwoves fights happen and will kill plenty of vampires

coffeeee , coffeee, manc, I need my coffee
and scotch do you have some nurofens left?

  • Comment number 26.

Could it be that these first scrolls are about the past and later, as we get more scrolls, they'll be about the future? Otherwise how can we explain the clue "You know these stories" as fiona (21.) remarked?

  • Comment number 27.

im going to be completely honest and say that i havent got the foggiest! ill just quite happily sit back and let you lot do all the hard work. just a guess but could anything mean sacrifice? a lot of ancient thingy majigs have that going on dont they? like i said i dont know. but ive convinced myself that the nemesis is Hal or Tom

  • Comment number 28.

the first three tell of the house where two humans lived annie and her boyfriend then mitchell and george .Annies death brings them togehter the Vampire Mitchell should have died in the line of fire ww1. but this could be Hals story

  • Comment number 29.

can this be that the scrolls are this seasons episodes so far?

  • Comment number 30.

I think they are definately the story to date. The next ones will be about the future, but where best to start a story than at the beginning. Plus giving us stories we already know helps us understand the symbols for stories in the future.

  • Comment number 31.

and all the episodes so far have clues about future events? Like the cleaning pool thing in last sunday's

  • Comment number 32.

Annie maybe shouldt be dead she was murdered george was attacked and survived and Mitchell choose to become a vampire so this could be the beginning of the story or it could be the end of the or the middle of the story beginning middle and an end.it could be the end of Hals story who knows

  • Comment number 33.

    @29
    ok we write

    scroll one can be
there was a trinity who lived together in a house
and a vampire loved like a brother a dying werewolf?
Hal was worried about Leo's health?

    scroll two
a werewolf in order to protect a ghost with a baby had to kill vampires
    or...
vampires wanted to kill a werewolf who was protecting a ghost with a baby
    or
a vampire, a ghost and a werewolf were ready to kill in order to protect a baby

    scroll three
fire was intended to kill in a house which had seen death already vampires
    or
??? the king of the vampires??? vampires something

as herrick said something something something e something something s

    by the way @mistress denton
    was it the word FRIENDS?

  • Comment number 34.

@saintixe why can't that symbol on the first scroll (the one we don't know about) be the symbol for ghost? there must be a symbol for ghost, so which one is it, if it's not that one?

  • Comment number 35.

Nope, I'm lost now. Not sure how I feel about all of these scrolls saying what's going to happen. The episodes are enough for that!

  • Comment number 36.

I have a brainwake! What if the fire symbol actually represents the cafe where Tom and Hal work?

  • Comment number 37.

35 Haha, I realised I'm being finicky; I didn't like that they were just going to tell us what we already knew either! But if these scrolls will tell us what is going to happen in the series then I don't want to read it in the scrolls before it happens.

Good luck deciphering, guys! I'll see you in the other blogs :)

  • Comment number 38.

Hi @min - we wouldn't spoil the show for you. Trust us.

  • Comment number 39.

    Hi Rebecca! Hullo Bloggers!
Phew! So glad that's sorted 'cos every time I looked at that nipple all I could see was Trevor.

  • Comment number 40.

    @ALLIE

we know what is the shape of a man
the symbol seems- naturally seems, I am not so sure
    looks like two men entwined
Ewan has it as lovers, I am in favour of brothers

    now ghost?
but if eve is cared by a ghost as in Annie if f eve is the saviour , and we are not convinced yet of that unless baby eve did the poltergeist thing with the knife..
Annie and her ghost symbol would appear on the war child scroll???

  • Comment number 41.

just a quickie, two men are going to have a fight on a full moon. could it be tom and hal or hal and another old one. mr snow? there is a symbol that looks like yin and yang (someone has said that) that is the nemesis i presume. the evil twin. i think its future woman now. i keep changing my mind! the arm of death will strike and some will die. and toms bombs will be there too.

  • Comment number 42.

    reality beting fiction

    http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/world/asia/article3327856.ece

now, @mistress denton, even Lord Toby would not have been able to invent that???

  • Comment number 43.

Or if Ying and Yang An internal battle which personality will win?

  • Comment number 44.

38 Hi Rebecca :) Alright, I will trust you! How could I not?!

  • Comment number 45.

@Saintixe: yes, I see what you mean. The symbol looks like two man-like figures intertwined, so it's not exactly an image one would link to a ghost. But I thought, since the first scroll is supposed to be about the "trinity", it should have the symbols for all three of the supernatural creatures.

Also, last blog (the 3rd scroll) said "Each one of the eight scrolls tells a chapter of an overall story not unrelated to, but neither impacting upon The War Child". That's why I'm supposing it's the story of George, Mitchell and Annie.

  • Comment number 46.

    or a forth trinity?

  • Comment number 47.

@allie: You could interpret the interlocked symbol to mean ghost by thinking of it as two lives of a person, a mirror image of sorts, so the image of the person after life. A ghost! It's a long stretch though for me. I think it's more likely to mean people that are close. So friendship, lovers, family etc. But I agree, it seems logical that the Ghost symbol should be there somewhere.

    http://www.cultbox.co.uk/spoilers/teasers/3074-being-human-series-4-episode-4-teasers

  • Comment number 49.

Hi, new commenting the blog but I'm always sat here reading through it!
Didn't Regus mention something about a man with a burnt arm? Could this be something to do with the fire?

  • Comment number 50.

Does anybody know how to read the symbols, like in what order/direction? That would be a major help! :D

Also I think the first scroll is about either the George/Mitchell/Annie trio or Hal/Leo/Pearl trio with the overlapping man symbols meaning either ghost (just by process of elimination for the trinity) or lovers ie. Mitchell + Annie or Leo+Pearl

  • Comment number 51.

    50. - I think you start in the top left and go around anti-clockwise. At least, I believe that's how they read the first scroll in the first episode.

  • Comment number 52.

So we have been told this by Rebecca 'You know these stories' so they have been in previous series'. Or have been mentioned in the past

This is what i think the scrolls mean

    Scroll One
The three supernaturals living in a house together. (mitchell, annie and george, now hal, annie and Tom)

    Scroll two
I think that it could be representing Mitchell and his battle to the end. There is werewolf, vamp and killed, we dont know what the other symbol is but im going to guess that it represents peace.
George (werewolf) killed Mitchell (vamp) as mitchell wanted to keep peace and not to suffer the 'curse' any more

    Scroll three
We have a death in a house so im going to say that its a funeral parlour, vampire, fire (?) and killed. So im going to say that it shows the story of the explosion in the funeral parlour in series 2 which killed Ivan.

    Hope this helps.

  • Comment number 53.

    8. allie_dv - I totally agree with you. I'm also puzzled as to what the other symbol in scroll 2 is though and the vampire thing in scroll 3.
I think scroll 1 refers to Annie, Mitchell and George living together (or could it be Hal, Leo and Pearl?)
Then scroll 2, a werewolf kills a vampire. But depending on what that other symbol is it could be any occasion and anyone (Tom, McNair or George??)
And finally scroll 3, Something about a vampire(s) being killed by fire in the house of death?
    Hmm....

This is soooo exciting!! I can't wait for this Sundays episode!! :D

  • Comment number 54.

Could the other symbol attached to the vampire symbol in scroll 3 be time or eternity??

  • Comment number 55.

    @54
    yes, might be that
a vampire standing or sitting on the eternity logo
either a vampire entering AL? or an eternal vampire? the king of vampires???

    which can be read
fire killed ... peeps in the house od death/the funeral parlour

but the king of vampires of the local chapter
    - Mitchell of the B Edwards funeral home
    survived?

  • Comment number 56.

Just a little thought - The scrolls refer to a supernatural trinity, of which there are 2 (G+M+A or H+L+P) maybe 3 if you include the new line-up of Hal Annie and Tom. I've read the Harry Potter books multiple times so there's alarm bells ringing in my brain because as any fellow HP fan will know, the "Chosen One" prophecy could have applied to either Harry or Neville Longbottom - maybe some of the scrolls and the War Child prophecy doesn't just apply to our original George Mitchell and Annie trinity?

  • Comment number 57.

53 - @black-rose27 You're right about the unknown symbol on the 2nd scroll. Depending on how we read that, it could change the meaning of the whole story, so we need to figure that out in order to understand the rest. Also I suppose it's going to be a very important symbol for the War child scroll, since there is a very similar symbol in it (only with a black sphere inside.... maybe this could mean hate?).

    55. Saintixe "the king of vampires of the local chapter - Mitchell of the B Edwards funeral home survived". That would be wonderful, every fan's dream!Sadly though I don't think AT's going to return

  • Comment number 58.

I see more followers of the Forth Trinity
    George Mitchell Annie Nina
    Christa Adam Matt
    Leo Pearl Hal

    I think that the
Annie Tom Hal is a continuation of two separate trinities more than a new trinity.

So was there another Trinity or will there be one?

  • Comment number 59.

I didn't realise there are 8 scrolls altogether. I thought there was only 3 and was getting confused as to where the war child prophecy came from, haha!

    57. allie_dv - Yeah it could mean love or friendship or something in the second scroll. and maybe the other symbol you're talking about in the war child scroll is enemies or rivals or hate?

    55. saintixe56 - Yeah it could be. Or maybe it means Old One? Because a vampire and time could equal Old One.

  • Comment number 60.

Was an Old One killed in the bomb at the funeral parlour?

    14. fiona - I think you're right. These 3 scrolls are from previous series and have happened.

  • Comment number 61.

Its far to comicated for me to work out.

    "Not more sick"

  • Comment number 62.

    Hello again,

60- Ivan was an Old One and he got caught in the explosion

3 scrolls 3 series the more you think about it, the more it makes sense. 5 scrolls left to come as there are 8 in total- could the next 5 scrolls be clues to the next 5 episodes?

  • Comment number 63.

    as nprevious blogs earlier comments
    runes or ideograms readings
    require
    to know in which direction
    left to right?
    top to bottom of page

arabic is right to left like jewish
chinese and japanese(?) can be read top to bottom
old egyptian also can be read in two directions

and we do not know if the position of a symbol can alter its meaning
is a werewolf symbol standing and laying mean teh same or not?

plus nipples? and tattooes around nipples are they significant???

  • Comment number 64.

@Black-rose27 60 I'm beginning to think you and saintixe are right, maybe the sign under "vampire" in the third scroll is indeed a simplified form of the sign for eternityso the whole symbol could definitely mean "old one". Was Ivan an Old One? Hal knew him, so he could've been and he was killed in the explosion at the funeral parlour.

The only problem is, what has this got to do with the main story? The only connections is that it triggered Mitchell into doing the BT20 massacre and brought about his death so it ultimately brought Annie, Tom and Hal together... it's all a bit wobbly though

  • Comment number 65.

Last night we were introduced to a set of scrolls that foretold one of the five vampire legends - The War Child.

Online, we will release a second set of scrolls, and it's up to you to decode and decipher the meaning. As the series rolls along - can you unpick the mystery?

Will there be more nipples? Because... 'Oh my god, that's human skin!'

Each one of the eight scrolls tells a chapter of an overall story not unrelated to, but neither impacting upon The War Child.

Ask yourselves... Whose story is this?

    You know these stories.

Not unrelated: the parents of the war child would be relevant but not impacting as the war child is an orphan

and it is past, so could be anytimes when Nina and George were alive???

Where is Lia when one needs her? ... oh, thanks dear...

    'doing my head in'

  • Comment number 66.

    62. nerdyalice - Yeah i was thinking was Ivan not an Old One but i wasn't quite sure. Do you think the third scroll refers to Ivan being killed by the bomb at the funeral parlour then?

    63. saintixe56 - Yeah that's true. I just assumed it was to be read how we read but it could be any direction.

    58. ewan - I don't think there's a new trinity (except from Annie, Tom and Hal of course). I think these scrolls have already happened so maybe it refers to Annie, Mitchell and George before Nina came into it?

  • Comment number 67.

OK my tuppenceworth - nothing new, I wouldn't imagine but I don't have time to read everything boo hiss!

    1) I think is the supernatural trinity - we have ww, vampire and I think the sign we're not sure of means ghost. It's the only way we can make up the trinity. They are living in the same house.

    2) Here we have the vampire being killed by the ww - could the last sign be for love. So vamp killed by ww but through brotherly love not hate

    3) I thought the sign at the bottom of the vampire sign meant *in the days of*. So that could be the vampires days are numbered at the house of death (funeral home) - they will be killed by fire.

  • Comment number 68.

    62. nerdyalice - thanks :) I wasn't sure about Ivan. Can you remember exactly when they say that he's an OO?

  • Comment number 69.

So that would make one scroll per series - although we've not been shown them in the right order. I think these are confirming things that have happened - dreams that have already been fulfilled, if you like.

  • Comment number 70.

WOOHOO answers ..... just cooking dinner be back in a bit to decode. ooooo excited

  • Comment number 71.

i just think scroll 1= first series, the 3 of them in the house together.
scroll2=3 series the two people come together on a full moon (nina and george) and create that yin yang ish symbol which could be eve and nemesis. and they are now in the arms of death(g+n)
scroll 3= 2nd series. fire and death in the house meaning the explosion in the funeral parlour.
i dont know and im getting fed up....aahhhhh!!

  • Comment number 72.

I'm just assuming Ivan was an OO from what fergus said in the 1855 flashback
"I think the others are scared of him Ivan, Wyndham, Jacob even Hetty. But not Mr Snow of course." I'm guessing that is our list of Old Ones otherwise why mention them to a maid!?.

As for the third scroll we have the symbols for Fire, arm+death= Killed, Vampire, House of death. So if it isn't that I haven't a clue!

  • Comment number 73.

oh my comment got posted late! kept doing a twirly thingy in the box. sasha @69 said it already.

  • Comment number 74.

@saffz its hal to tom, in the cafe when tom says about what has been left on the table

  • Comment number 75.

    74 - Hahahaha
They should have given it to Regus haha

  • Comment number 76.

    64. allie_dv - :) I'm actually quite sure now that the 3rd scroll means Ivan being blown up in the funeral parlour. It will be interesting to see the next scroll to see if it is about the box tunnel 20.

I'm still puzzled about the mystery symbol in the 2nd scroll though. I have a hunch it could mean friendship. George killed Herrick out of friendship to save Mitchell but he also killed Mitchell through friendship and love. But then McNair and Tom have been killing plenty vampires to save themselves.

  • Comment number 77.

    75. @saffz think Regus may have appreciated the mag more than Tom or Hal.

    Whas pondering
    1. why did Regus have to share a Bathroom with .. Polish builders?
    2. How old is Regus? - is he an OO?
    3. Do OOs get pension rights?

  • Comment number 78.

@77 lycan regus had a house share thats why he was sharing a bathroom i think he is old but not a oo as such. didnt he say he has been scroll keeper for 400yrs?

  • Comment number 79.

78 - He did indeed Leanne!

  • Comment number 80.

Regarding the scrolls i think we are all saying pretty much the same things (or along the same lines).
I don't know if I've understood correctly, do all the scrolls go together to create one huge scroll, or do a couple (2 or 3) create part of a story? As the two that Hal, Annie and Tom have all link up to create one story.

  • Comment number 81.

    80. lozzie_lo - I thought they all linked up to create the prophecies.

  • Comment number 82.

    @leanchoc
@ Sahsa thanks, just thought temptation of a "builders breakfast" might be too much. Noticed Regus seemed to have a Bag of blood festering in the house ...
Also: if Regus is over 400 how come Ivan was an OO and was about 200 wasn't he?

Liked his character, he had clung to some of his good human point (best part being "Mad as a brush")

  • Comment number 83.

I have a question which may be silly but if its human skin and the scrolls are 400 years old how have they not biodegraded?

  • Comment number 84.

yes lozzie_lo so far we all have reached pretty much the same conclusions. Let's hope they won't be revealed as being completely wrong LOL

Each scroll is "a chapter of an overall story" as one of the blogs said and as saintixe wrote above

  • Comment number 85.

    83. kind of a creepy thing to think about, but I suppose it was treated as goatskin and sheepskin is treated to make parchment

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parchment

  • Comment number 86.

82 - Hiya lycan - I don't think Ivan was regarded as an OO.

  • Comment number 87.

look what ive just found. No spoliers. Very intersting.
    http://sookiestackhouse.com/?cat=212

  • Comment number 88.

    85. - Ah i see. That is creepy, lol.

    86. sasha - I think he was an Old One, was he not?

    Hmm...

  • Comment number 89.

I think Old Ones have to have a reputation as well as the age.

    Fergus on Hal

"Our Lord Harry he's Old One, or at least he was."

Age doesn't seem to be all there is to it. You can be an Old coward quite easily but to be an Old Lion.

It could be the Old Ones saw the Box Tunnel as Mitchell's audition piece. a reputation and strenght.

  • Comment number 90.

    89. - Ah yeah. I think you're right ewan. Ivan did have the reputation though. So is he an Old One or not? Maybe i'll have watch the episode where the funeral parlour blows up again.

  • Comment number 91.

I suppose what I should have said earlier is that I believe Ivan was an OO because of what Fergus said.
Also I think he mentioned his age to M in S2 I can't remember exactly what he said but I thought it was either 350 or 450.
I was wondering about the criteria for becoming an OO, as Regus said he spent 400 years on the scrolls/history and he obviously had no respect from the others, despite his age.
So I take it that age isn't the only factor. Prehaps it's down to who made who as well as age. Or general Evil-ness.

    Or prehaps it's like Scouts,
you need your Peasant flaying badge, your Going on a rampage badge, your Massacre badge and finally your Evil plotting badge!

Also am I right in thinking that flaying is cutting off skin or cutting skin open? What with these scrolls and what they are made from, thats something to ponder.

I was just thinking back to the Ivan and Daisy prequel - when they met Hetty. I think Ivan was deferential to Hetty. In saying that he was, I think, he was very well liked and well respected. So maybe that would've been enough to be considered an OO. I do think, though, they'd have had to have a certain age before getting that title - just don't know what it was for certain. Thought in previous discussions, and this is going waaaaay back on the blog, it was thought maybe 400/500 years - could be way off though.

    Ivan was 237

    @SASHA YOU ARE RIGHT
    IN THE PREQUEL
iVAN presents Daisy to Hetttie as Hettie being an OO, not one of us , Hettie seems to be about as old as Regus, so age but also something else is needed.
probably a walk on a very wild side

As Ewan said, i think you need the reputation to be an old one. Obviously the oldest vamps (possibly the originals if they are still around) automatically get the status of being an OO but i do think that it depends on their creator, their age and their reputation to whether they are an old one. If the originals are 1000 years old (is that how old they are?) then i would define an old one at 500+ years old (ish), if their maker is an OO like Mr Snow, Hal, Hettie etc then you could possibly become an OO and if you have the reputation, much like Mitchells then i think that may also effect whether you are an old one.
So if Ivan is an old one (which we don't quite know) he may have been created by an OO, or have a very good reputation, as i cant see him being an OO just by his age if he is 237

As Hettie is going to SA apparently for the first time, and she is only 400something, I suppose 400 is the age requirement minimalis
    but there is something else

as in the 1855 episode, Hal is shown not to be afraid of killing by number
his comment of having more than 20 aservants in that size of house can be rad as I just killed more than 20 peeps and bring them on

but after that his lookm at the maid is 'curious' what did he see or was looking to see in the maid that she did not have?

mabe ivan wasnt an old one. although he was mentioned in e3 fergus was there and he wasnt an old one. i liked ivan im gutted he has gone!

It'd be great to know more about "How to become an Old One". If Ivan was 237 yo, he definitely was quite young (compared to other vampires) and yet he was respected, Hal knew him and he was referenced by Fergus together with a bunch of known OO... so ewan's is the most likely theory imho.

I thought I was more interested in the more intimate, cosy, flat-sharing-related aspects of BH, but learning about the mythology behind it all and theorizing on it is actually just as fun.

It could be Ivan was already getting a reputation at the early age of 82.
