BH_Holiday.jpg

New to BH? This post does not contain spoilers, but the comments might...

It's the Easter holidays (woohoo!) and for many it's a great time to take a little trip away.  And this got us thinking...

If George, Mitchell and Annie took a holiday, where would they go and what would they do?

Mitchell's not too good with the sunshine, so maybe... erm, a caving holiday?  Ok, scrap that, how about a cruise?  They could cast George off in a lifeboat to transform.  Ok, rubbish idea... erm, how about a trip to the seaside, like our picture!?

Jeez, I'm glad I'm not their travel agent.

So, a Being Human holiday... a mini-break from Totterdown... What do you think they'd do?

Well if you had the budget Vegas all the way. Because you never have to go out in the daylight, Annie could finally see Elvis (well sort of) and George would get all maudlin about the tigers in the Mirage casino and he's smart enough to invent to some incredibly complicated system to win at the casinos.
Realistically though --- Blackpool. Mitchell could do some fancy dancing, George could enjoy complaining about how tacky it is and Annie would love the sparkly lights.

  • Comment number 2.

Annie could go to India....pick her own Tea
Mitchell could go to Asda/Tesco at one of the Poles(don,t know which one) where he could munch constantly in six months of darkness.
    George..Longleat Safari Park

BH Team, I'm playing along with this but I think youv'e gone wrong in your mind-boxes!!

  • Comment number 3.

yeah think i'd opt for blackpool - not overly sunny, the exciting tower, the rides, beautiful lights.....something for everyone.....

jeez the Q's are getting weirder on here, I think BHproduction are a bit over-excited about the prospect of the hols!!!!

  • Comment number 4.

What?!!? They can't go on holiday! BH prod, I think all that excitement yesterday went to your heads...

But suspending my disbelief for a minute, they would definitely go somewhere really rubbish. George would want intellectual things (museums or nice countryside), Annie would want shopping, a beach or a pool, etc etc, and Mitchell would want... ummm... clouds and biscuits? But basically Annie and George's ideas of a holiday would be totally incompatible, so Mitchell would come up with a compromise which is meant to be somewhere in the middle but both of them would end up having a rubbish time.

  • Comment number 5.

BH Team: Can't hang around, got to go shopping for food for the 15 people coming for Sunday lunch.....You see, I am a grown-up and not the exitable little puppy who careers around these wages but just had to say before I go, a bit disappointed. You told me EML stood for Excessive Mitchell Love...it doesn't its Ee's Mine, Lay-off. Talk later

  • Comment number 6.

Wages ?...meant pages...some sort of Freudian slip

  • Comment number 7.

Look at the blog! It's so pretty! It's such a lovely width! Look at your little info boxes! Look at all the extra nav features at the bottom! Look at the bookmarking features! Yay yay yay!

Erm, back to the question in hand. I dunno, I'm not sure what the deal with Annie is nowadays. Could she be that far from the house? Probably best to stick to England. Devon and Cornwall, maybe, they're only up the road.

  • Comment number 8.

There is this thing that they do, full moon hiking trips.....wait a minute, that's not good 0_0

I think Blackpool would be better

  • Comment number 9.

I leave for a day and swish new page design
    Cool^_^

  • Comment number 10.

    Good Grief what's going on?

I have to say I love the idea of a naff seaside resort for the three of them.

I can see George really getting into the Bingo maybe moonlighting as a Caller.

Mitchell could be one of those guys that you secretly lusted after working the Dogems.

And finally Annie ... well I can see her just happy collecting shells on the beach and then sticking them onto empty Mateus Rose bottles.

  • Comment number 11.

they would prob go to blackpool mitchell could work in that house of horrors they have there were you come out in a pub hed be great in there
    well they all would

  • Comment number 12.

or waymouth dont o why but i could really see them all there

  • Comment number 13.

Vampfan 2 "BH Team, I'm playing along with this but I think youv'e gone wrong in your mind-boxes!!"
    lol and couldn't agree more...

but since it's been asked, umm blackpool or camping somewhere, not sure where, just avoid the full moon wouldn't want George attacking the other campers now would we!

  • Comment number 14.

Yeah I can imagine them camping! All crammed into a little tent while it rains all the time, and Annie trying to keep their spirits up by singing and playing games which drives George mental...

  • Comment number 15.

Singingtwit: You see!! We all think it is mad and yet we go along with it. I'm ringing Brussels to see if there is something in the constition about brainwashing

  • Comment number 16.

Constitution...have got a dyslex muscle between my brain and fingers

  • Comment number 17.

definitely, that would work so well, or in small cramped caravan

  • Comment number 18.

Vampfan: it's true we just can't help ourselves, when a question is asked we feel the need to answer no matter how mad it is!

  • Comment number 19.

In a small caravan they would need that Priest (Graham Norton) from Father Ted...he'd keep their spirits up..if they didn't kill him frst

  • Comment number 20.

    Pavlov's Dogs

  • Comment number 21.

    indeed & oh yes

  • Comment number 22.

    vampfan pavlovis dog??????
    im confussed

  • Comment number 23.

Katy....long and boring but basically everytime Pavlov fed his dogs, he rang a bell, eventually when he rang a bell the dogs salivated (ooooh Mitchell..sorry distracted)even if there was no food there...simple

  • Comment number 24.

Just to clarify, I was responding to Singing's 18 it wasn't just some random scientific experiment

  • Comment number 25.

Off-topic again (are you surprised, really?) - have just heard there's a Swedish film (with subtitles) out called 'Let The Right One In' about a 12yr old boy who falls for a 12yr old girl who's a vampire. Doesn't look like my cup of tea at all, as the trailer reminds me of 13 Days of Night which I HATED. But just thought some of you may be interested

  • Comment number 26.

    Hi, everyone,

So far, the only thing I could really comment on at length is Pavlov and the poor dogs. We are all so conditioned, its embarrassing.

I hated Days of Night too.

  • Comment number 27.

    How twisted was Pavlov!

You're right though, I blame the schools (and therefore myself) we set up an atmosphere where answering questions is rewarded with praise (and stickers - never underestimate the power of a sticker) and now we're all conditioned to answer any questions we see... *shrugs shoulders* but what ya gonna do!?

  • Comment number 28.

And totally agree 13 days of night is terrible

  • Comment number 29.

Sperkii I reckon that film looks really good its been out on dd ages but never actually been released in this country.

As for the question - Barry you have well and truly lost it lol oh and easter holidays? now that is the beauty of working with children lol the question erm I dunno somewhere not sunny for mitchell with not many people - less temptation, somewhere with art and architecture for george and somewhere i dunno what would annie want? somewhere self catering so she could make the tea...
hmm ill get back to you...

  • Comment number 30.

singingtwit - oh yes the power of stickers what would we do without them?!

  • Comment number 31.

Pavlov was not twisted. He was very clever. Without Pav we wouldn't understand the basic conditioning that we all use today, with children, blogs and employees (not that I've ever had an employee).

  • Comment number 32.

But I still feel dreadful about the dogs but that's nothing when you know about the monkeys.

    Anyway.. yeah Blackpool.

  • Comment number 33.

Yeah, eagle, so I gathered. I still think it looks awful though

Re the question, I don't have a scooby doo, but I like comment 1

  • Comment number 34.

Just to bring you all back. "Where do I belong ?" .....With me you stuoid Vampire, with me!.....not some place where a scientist torments dogs....or in the spirit of the blog, BUTLINS

  • Comment number 35.

Lol sperkii i havent seen any clips of it or anything just read the synopsis - might well be rubbish.

Oh yeah and the monkeys - with the wire monkey and the soft monkey...god who did that i really should know this so close to my exam agghhh lol

  • Comment number 36.

    STUPID...god I give up

  • Comment number 37.

Harlow! Ok feel better now lol not thick

  • Comment number 38.

    vampfan are you ok? ;-)

  • Comment number 39.

sperkii: no, i've been discussing this with a friend (who doesn't get him) Normally, i am a quiet type, you know, happy to stand at the back and watch everybody make fools of themselves. But I get on here and turn into a gobby opinionated vampfan. Is there such a thing as Blog-rage ? cos I think I got it.

  • Comment number 40.

Just had a thought, my bizarre random comments are usually just a correction of a previous comment where I dyslexed...not quite a nut-job yet.

  • Comment number 41.

do I smell? cos lately when I'm here, no-one else is!
I think if the housemates won the lottery they should definitely go to Las Vegas - something for all three of them! but as they probably won't win the lottery then yep, I'm with the Blackpool contingent. although of course there is Center Parcs as well, which might work - in the middle of the forest with lots of wildlife - ideal for George at a full moon, nice shade for Mitchell as well as the shops and stuff are mostly indoors, and the swimming pool is open at night if he fancied a dip! and for Annie she could just chill out with endless cups of (expensive) tea at one of the bars, join in with all the craft stuff, face painting, dream catcher making etc etc - be right up her street!! yes, my vote is for Center Parcs.

  • Comment number 42.

however I also have to agree with vampfan (again!), I used to be reasonably sane but now whenever I see something new on the blog I have to jump aboard with everybody else and start talking about completely bonkers stuff!! and that feeling you get if you're number 1, first to answer!! amazing! The BBC are taking over our minds, it's the only explanation, and Barry is in charge of it.

  • Comment number 43.

It's very white on here when you're all alone! My eyes are hurting, must be how Mitchell feels.

  • Comment number 44.

brooksie: Thank god you are here (starting to think my EML had knocked me into a parallel universe where I was the only cazy girl-fan)
    You are right...completley Bonkers stuff
But, just watched David Tennant on Weakest Link very, very pretty but not a patch on...you know the rest!!
    Husband gone on night shift
Kids at nana's and gramps for the night, I can be a silly girl all night

  • Comment number 45.

lucky you! my lot are all here and playing on the Wii! I just escaped to the blog for a bit before it's wrestled back form me by hubby or nippers! what do you think of the whiteness here??

  • Comment number 46.

Center Parcs or a camping trip --- it could mean a moonlit skinny dip.
Oh I posted about Let the Right One In a while back and I finally got to see it today. I liked it, it's beautifully shot and the 2 main leads are amazing. It does skim over a lot of stuff from the book though but it definitely has its moments.

  • Comment number 47.

Definitely Center Parcs then, if there's any possiblity of a Mitchell skinny-dipping episode!!

  • Comment number 48.

I quite like it, it must be a bit like what Annie went through, you know in between the two worlds and when everyones at home and they don't want the 'big light' on I can see what I'm doing. Is that the most boring answer you have ever had. God, I'm losing the plot, big style. Please Barry...no more

  • Comment number 49.

yeah, it takes a bit of getting used to. I wasn't on here yesterday so it was a bit of a shock today!! thought I'd pressed the wrong button. I think I liked the black background better tho, it was more atmospheric in my opinion!!

  • Comment number 50.

    more Bristol vampire-y!!

  • Comment number 51.

Just to warn you my tinterweb box keeps freezing so my answers may be more random and dis-jointed than usual. But I gotta ask, Brooksie did you just say 'Bristol vampire-y' God girl, when it comes to random you are as bad as me!!

  • Comment number 52.

yep, I said "Bristol vampire-y". I think we can invent a whole new BH language if we hang around on here long enough!!

  • Comment number 53.

I've just indulged myself and watched the bit where Herrick comes to talk to M about Bernie (You know, the close-up) Then when you think about the bit where he says to George "It's just my face"..he's got no idea has he?.

As far as a new BH Language, we could easily cos lets face it, after weeks/months on these blogs it's obvious that we all know every full-stop and comma of every scene of every ep. People not in the know would call us anaraks but we know were are just too cool

  • Comment number 54.

Could anyone else imagine Mitchell taking the others to Transylvania saying:
    "its just for fun, honest"?

  • Comment number 55.

    ultra cool, vampfan!!

  • Comment number 56.

    lol, andiecane that's brilliant

  • Comment number 57.

    andiecane
Are you mad? He can't take George there.....they don't like werewolfs....they would hurt him and our George is precious

  • Comment number 58.

do you think "George-ish" could be a word too? ie "he said that in such a George-ish way" ??
omg, what have they done to us?
I'm going to watch Primeval, then episode 6 again.

Hmmm, andiecane Transylvania eh? bit too off the beaten track for George methinks, he'd get a panic attack!!

  • Comment number 59.

Brooksie I think you are right, a BH language is definitely on the way lol

  • Comment number 60.

George-ish brilliant word, can already see it slipping into conversation

  • Comment number 61.

No and please, please don't call it a panic attack (George-ish??)

  • Comment number 62.

I don't think they'd go that far. I mean Annie doesn't like going too far away from the house, Mitchell probably doesn't fly well (recirculated air and very squashed conditions arn't good when you're fighting blood lust.) and George would need somewhere where he could transform easily if there out there for a full moon...

  • Comment number 63.

    Cieria: Bultins it is then!!

  • Comment number 64.

Butlins, I meant Butlins....I give up today (Its my EML)

  • Comment number 65.

Slightly off-topic, but was anyone else pleased with the switch of George being on holiday in Scotland when he got attacked (it was Mexico in the pilot)? I found that so much more George-like. Going out to Mexico to plan a wedding seems a bit.. er.. adventurous for a bloke like George. Suppose it's possible that he was actually an extreme sports playing, skateboard riding, mountain-climbing out-and-out Action Hero before he got attacked, but I get the feeling that his condition only (severely) exacerbates his natural George-ness :D

Center Parcs, that's where I see George. 100% complete relaxation, and a great big forest in the back (just in case).

  • Comment number 66.

Right kids, that me done for the day. Brooksie's doing EP6 and its EP4 for me...be good, dont get bitten unless it of course...well you all know the rest

  • Comment number 67.

BH WRITERS AND TEAM - Please take Red Dwarf as a classic example of what NOT to do with your show. Please, please, please never cling onto the show when it should come to an end. I am obviously a HUGE fan and will be sad when it ends, but I'd be sadder to see it forced into more episodes than was good for it. Witnessing the Red Dwarf come-back show was painful.

  • Comment number 68.

sperkii: well said, can't believe what they've done to Dwarf. Recognising when a show has reached its natural end is a lot better than flogging a dead horse. But obviously BH isn't at that stage yet.

  • Comment number 69.

Oh no, I wasn't suggesting it was. I just wanted to say it now. Fawlty Towers had the right idea, keeping it to a limited number

  • Comment number 70.

I know I just thought I'd make it clear in case BH team got worried!
Yeah Fawlty Towers, every episode is a classic.

  • Comment number 71.

i wasnt impressed with the new red dwarf used to be soo funny and it still had its moments but still not as good as it was
still gonna wacth the rest though

  • Comment number 72.

    singingtwit are you still here

  • Comment number 73.

ill take that as a no then

certer parks yes that could work

oh certer parks or blackpool i cant choose

    (a little help here people)

  • Comment number 74.

sorry hunting for comp battery charger only 17% left!!!!

  • Comment number 75.

    Found it!!!! *far to excited*

  • Comment number 76.

yay thats great singingtwit im excited to *jumps up and down*

  • Comment number 77.

have a happy comp now and happy me obviously

centre parks or blackpool or a caravaning holiday?

  • Comment number 78.

no caravaning holiday would be to cramped they could go camping though and each have there own tent

  • Comment number 79.

could do, think they should take a reinforced caravan or trailer for George, with a really big and incredibly strong padlock... just in case

  • Comment number 80.

well im off now so see you later

  • Comment number 81.

    night Katy

  • Comment number 82.

    singingtwit

Would that be on the moonlight hiking thingymagummy that I mentioned before.
Stick George (+Nina???) in a reinforced caravan whilst Mitchell+Annie have a nice romantic moonlight hike up the mountains

  • Comment number 83.

Yes somewhere they can go skinny dipping lol cant read through them all though - see this is why I dont like having a night off lol

  • Comment number 84.

    ^_^
I'm the same, only catching up myself

  • Comment number 85.

Lol im thinking of calling i a night - would you credit it the 2 days i havent had to work an early shift the blog and forum are dead - but whenever i ought to go to bed theres loads of people on lol

  • Comment number 86.

    Lionesskeeper - yep!

  • Comment number 87.

Ok if it was to be done in the show I reckon they should go camping in Ireland - George would be hilarious being all anal about cleanliness and Mitchell could bump into one of his relatives but not realise straight away (ok im not conforming to the stereotype that all irish people know each other i know its a big country but hey for the purpose of the show...) and Annie could be forever making tea on a camp stove lol oh and for some reason ive got a hilarious image of George attempting to ride a horse lol and of course the skinny dipping if they could fit it in there somewhere - really no story potential just a shameless plug for more of naked Aidan and Russell lol suppose they could meet a mermaid i know its been suggested as a potential new supernatural - although im not crazy about the idea just a bit of simple nudity will be fine :-)

Or Butlins - no particular reason other than I always wanted to go but we could never afford it so i can live it through mitchell george and annie lol

  • Comment number 88.

Think the pictures quite sweet - Mitchell and Annie as mummy and daddy with baby George lol - they always look after him - protect his innocence even at the end of episode 6 after hed killed herrick they were worrying about him - he is a bit like the child of the family...alhtough im sure Bex and the other "shippers" as i believe theyre called will make something else out of the fact that the annie oyster and the mitchell oyster (are they oysters?) are holding hands lol

Cant believe no ones up yet...

  • Comment number 89.

South Wales. don't know where in south wales bu south wales

  • Comment number 90.

    but sorry

  • Comment number 91.

    or blackpool

  • Comment number 92.

Haha, loving these suggestions! Just had a thought... If they went to Vegas they could make a fortune on stage - Annie could do a kick-ass magic show (jaunting, disappearing, blasting people across the room...) Mitchell could 'bring people back from the dead' (but then they'd be vampires, so, err... maybe not good) and George could be 'the incredible transforming wolf boy!'. It would only be a once a month show, but they could charge a fortune for the tickets. Not much of a holiday though is it, more like hard work!

  • Comment number 93.

Can't believe I,m still going along with this (Pavlov again) before we agree on Vegas we need to ask Toby if Mitchell can cross water. Even by my standards, that was a bizarre thing to type!!

  • Comment number 94.

BH : Forget my last comment, just thought it through....he got bsck from the trenches, unless in this strange world you have got us living in, there was a channel tunnel during WW1

  • Comment number 95.

Also in episode 6 Herrick and Josie are standing on a bridge- so I don't think water is a problem for vampires in the BH universe.
Surely Mitchell can't have a passport though? What with not being able to have photos taken, and being, well, dead! Although I find it quite annoying that he seems to have a hospital ID with a photo on it.

  • Comment number 96.

Not sure, but think it's already been said that he had a photo before he was 'turned' which has been doctored to fit any photos he needs for today. Got no idea where I read/saw/imagined this information

  • Comment number 97.

Yeah they def said that somewhere.

eagle, comment 88 has my brain all confuddled

Haha BH Production, good idea but...perhaps, on reflection, a bit too problematic?! (although can imagine George's comedy panics about it all and Annie feeling quite proud that people not only could see her but wanted to see her, and that they were in awe of her abilities)

  • Comment number 98.

I was on about the picture at the top of the page?

Yeah the photo on his hospital ID is a black and white picture of Aidan in WW1 style clothes etc - good idea in principal but i think people would think it a bit wierd when he applied for the job? lol but i guess it has to work for the show to work :-)

But a passport photo would have to be colour - although with all the modern technology im sure he could "colour it in" as such lol i know hes left the vampires now but i like to think that they're pretty organised - or they were under Herrick and tehy had a vampire for every occasion - a hairdresser for example - obviously vampires couldnt go to a human hairdressers because of the mirror (thats assuming vampires hair grows - technically i dont think it would but beginning of ep 4 it looks liks mitchell has had a few different do's over the years) anyway im sure theyd have a computer wizz in there somewhere whod be able to sort all things like that out :-D maybe mitchell could go back and get him to do it...

Ok I put way too much thought into this lol

  • Comment number 99.

Just gonna mention on here, I coin the concept for a spoof called 'B&Q Man' because that's what people think I'm saying when I say 'Being Human' on the phone :-D

  • Comment number 100.

sperkii: love you dearly...but what? Why do you say 'Being Human' on the phone? We are a secret, you shouldn't be discussing us on the phone.
