iPlayer Day: The daily iPlayer service meeting

Post categories:

Jonathan Richardson | 11:40 UK time, Friday, 12 December 2008

Every morning the different teams responsible for getting programmes onto BBC iPlayer and monitoring audience feedback meet at 10 a.m. They discuss any issues (for example raised on the iPlayer messageboard), work out how to get them fixed and how to respond to users.

The meeting moves around a bit but today took place in the Hendrix meeting room in the Broadcast Centre.

Great service - as well as catchup for missed TV shows I love radio - especially BBC 7 with Doctor Who and the 7th Dimension SF Drama.

On my 19in monitor the picture of the downloads seems very watchable but always keen on improvements picture quality.

    Have a great iPlayer Day

    Cheers, Dave C (daveac)

I had to download the new Iplayer - now, even the clip on your Daily service meeting page keeps stopping. Last night it took 5+ hours to download a 50 minute programmer - is this being addressed by anyone? I see other posts, but nor responses from BBC.
Why the Change? It wasn't broken, but now you've 'fixed'it. Why can't we go back to the Download Manager?
At the rate of 5+ hours per programme, the IPlayer is now null and void.

The clip above does work. But seems to be the wrong clip. We're investigating.
