Episode 7 Debrief: Who Shot Bambi?
Well, nobody really shot Bambi – and Susan dodged Jim's boardroom bullets too. As Lord Sugar pointed out, it was the baby deer's mother who perished – as did Glenn's hopes of winning The Apprentice after the Magazine task. The fact that 'Poor Glen' (sic) was trending worldwide could be an indication of what many felt about his dismissal...
In a very busy night on the bbcapprentice Twitter feed and Facebook fan page, many were laughing and gasping simultaneously at the developments. "Not only funny, but a total shock firing! Fantastic T.V.!" said allaboutAl. "Most enjoyable @bbcapprentice tonight. Quite how Jim survived is beyond me. Go Susie, don't let them get you down!" wrote cbosher. Meanwhile, Darren Barfoot suggested that "Glenn is too nice."
"Jedi Jim will nominate the other three to come back into the boardroom and himself to go back to the house," joked Marksyx shortly after the task result was announced. The losing Project Manager's survival caused plenty of disbelief. "Jim can convince the world that the Earth is flat!" laughed Alomgir. "I once bought an invisible coat from Jim! He was really nice but the coat isn't that warm," giggled AyianaYo. "Ok he can be ruthless but charming and alluring too!" sighed Yvonne Wallace, while Clare Crawford felt that "[his] namecalling was unnecessary and offputting. He prob should have gone tonight BUT I'm glad he didn't!!!"
Hip Replacement was trending worldwide, with elderly tweeters around the globe presumably thinking that some kind of surgical breakthrough has occurred. "Probably the worst name ever," lambasted PritchDan about the magazine created by Jim's team. "Hip Replacement sounds like a medical magazine," observed Alan Brooksby. "Something like Arthritis Today."
"[The] name should have been "one foot in the grave" chuckled Nazia Saeed, although there was widespread support for Zimmer and Coffin Dodgers online! Thisisthebird felt inclined to tweet: "On behalf of young people, I apologise for the unmitigated condescension on this weeks @bbcapprentice."
Over on the other team, Natasha, yeah, fared better with her purportedly highbrow lads' mag Covered, yeah. Well, it won. As PM, her antics raised a few eyebrows! "Natasha - is she joking? How to you blow your chances more like," seethed LizTyler. "Our focus group was quite focused' - brilliant insight from Natasha," quipped Katy3005. "Lads mags are for lads yeah' love Natasha!" added Truebluerich. It was no coincidence that David Brent was soon trending worldwide.
