As regular listeners will know I have spent what seems like most of this year with a bad elbone and bad luck due to the universe hating me. I'm excited to say that it looks as though the universe might be turning its hateful attentions elsewhere and this week my elbone has felt a little better, giving me some time to catch up on this and that and even on a couple of occasions, the other.

One of the things I've been meaning to do for a very long time is send thankyou notes for some of the letters and artistic gifts we occasionally receive here at the Castle but some of them had no addresses so I thought I'd give them a mention here. This blue furry bat version of myself was made by Nat Miller, who also made a Joe bat. I used to dislike bats but since receiving the one Nat made, I love them so much I now chase after them hoping for a kiss. Batmen are another matter. I will have nothing to do with Christian Bale, Michael Keaton, George Clooney and even Adam West who are all tedious tight wearing ponces.

This Stephen! tee shirt was a gift from Steve Hunt, who uploaded his design to MySoti where it was printed and sent out to us. The tee shirt even features the 'Onstronomay Oohdah' catchphrase that was part of another piece of juvenilia read out the day Stephen was born. Thanks Steve, they're great and make me think we should talk more about Stephen! on the show. Or has Stephen! been killed off?

Speaking of killing things off, thanks very much to James Alberti for the wonderful cartoon of Boggins which was left for me after my gig at the 100 Club last week. It's weird how exactly he has captured the essence of our smelly friend.

Anyway this is the tip of the iceberg of stuff people are kind enough to send in but I thought I'd get that tip out there while I had the opportunity. Hope you're all very well. Oh and sorry about the podcast problems this week. These things happen but I nearly had a coronary in my shed when I was listening on Monday night. My Bob Dylan Christmas song started and suddenly I was blasted with Guantanamo Bay style white noise and spilt wine all over myself. Luckily Boggins was there to lick it all off. Good times, as Justin Lee Collins would almost certainly say.

I love you byeee!

Some of you may have had the misfortune to make it past the 40 minute mark on Saturday's (31st Oct) podcast. If you did then we can only apologise for the nasty noise that suddenly interrupted your hosts. I have replaced it with a more pleasing take - titled 'The End of Boggins? (v2) 31 Oct 09'. Please, for the sake of your ears, download this one and delete the original...
