Indie-electronica producer and singer Jape has scooped the Meteor Choice Music Prize for 2011 for his album 'Ocean of Frequency'. At a live concert and ceremony last night in Dublin, a panel of judges deliberated over a list of ten albums including northern nominees Cashier no 9, ASIWYFA and the Japanese Popstars.

The Dublin based artist, real name Richie Egan, previously won the award for his 2008 album 'Ritual' and receives a cheque for ten thousand euros as part of the award.

'Ocean of Frequency' is Jape's fourth studio album. The band will play Whelan's on March 16th. New single 'Scorpio' is available now.
