Academy Tent - Bright Eyes, 10:50pm

In a Tweet: ATL is on our fourth wind with spitting Oberst.

What Happened: Coldplay have enticed 99.99% of Oxegen patrons to their Sunday evening headline slot at the main stage, leaving the lucky 0.1% to enjoy an intimate performance from Bright Eyes. Oberst, clad in a cream donkey jacket, is aggressive tonight, in a belligerently endearing way. The mere mention of Chris Martin has Oberst literally spitting his name just as he did the previous night at T in the Park.

Their cover of Gillian Welch's 'Wrecking Ball' was a stand out moment while various moments throughout their back catalogue get an airing throughout the hour long set. The band are joined on stage by M Ward drummer Scott MacPherson, who takes residence at a second drum kit for the final five tracks of the set.

Bright Eyes are tight, Oberst is nothing short of mesmerising and overall this was a great send off to the weekend.

Crazy in Love: The small tent and relatively few punters creates a real nice personal atmosphere. Its highly likely that Conor Oberst could be singing to you as there are only about 3 people (slight over exaggeration) in the tent.

Why Don't You Love Me: Thats the festival over and we have to wait another year to fill our boots again. So long Oxegen.

Oxegen Rating: 8/10
