I object to having to listen to non-stop Schubert (or any other composer) on BBC3.
An hour or even 2 each day would be much more acceptable to, I suspect, most of your listeners. Wall to wall means that I do not even tune in to BBC3 during this period.

I've just listened to the Andante from the Trio in E flat, and have to say thank you – I've not heard much of your Schubert season, but am revelling what I have. Its hard to believe that so much glorious music could have been written in those 31 short years.

Schubert seemed to sneak quietly into my life, and sit in the b/ground whilst I indulged in Beethoven, Brahms, Dvorak... There were of course the school years of singing the Trout and The Erl-king and Dietrich Fisher-Dieskau on the radio.... but I was largely unaware of the riches I was missing. Then some years ago, living in a quiet South African town, I was bowled over by a stunning theme to a TV series. It kept resounding in my head, and had me frantically searching to identify it – humming the refrain to friends – listening to extracts of as many Schubert works as I could access.... until I found a second-hand CD of theme music used in a film about Schubert's later life, called 'Notturno', on a car-boot sale, and bingo!

The power of that Andante still knocks me flat each time I listen to it! Thank you once again for bringing so much more of this magical music to our ears!
