Oliver Lansley plays Everett's Cupid Stunt

On Wednesday 3 October 2012, BBC Four screens a 90 minute drama telling the story of former BBC DJ and radio producer Kenny Everett who died in 1995.

In a special interview for the About the BBC blog, actor Oliver Lansley who plays Everett in the drama talked about the experience of playing the role, the impact he believed the DJ had on radio and television and the relationship Kenny had with the Corporation.

Best Possible Taste: The Kenny Everett Story is broadcast on Wednesday 3 October at 9pm on BBC Four. Read more on the BBC Media Centre website.

The first of a two-part documentary series about Kenny Everett - Here's Kenny - is available via the BBC Radio 4 Extra website. His BBC Local Radio Years is broadcast on Saturday 6 October.

BBC Radio 4 Extra are also giving fans an opportunity to hear Kenny's radio characters in a special series of 5 minute shorts.

    Oliver Landsley - I agree with Kara. Awesome!!! I was a fan of Kenny Everett from the early 70's onwards - and watching this I really though I was watching Cuddly Ken....... Thanks to the BBC - I reckon you have earned my licence fee money with this one drama.....

    I'm sorry but I disagree with the above comment. Although I wasn't particularly a "fan" of Kenny Everett - and I think he was "before his time" and was very zany, creative and imaginative. The actor/writer Oliver Lansley, who portrayed him, was AWESOME in my opinion!! I thought he gave a sterling performance - so much so you could almost believe it was Kenny himself! Brilliant!
