90 years of weather
Digital Content Producer, About The BBC Blog
Today, Tuesday 26 March, marks 90
years since the first daily weather forecasts on BBC Radio. The service began in 1923 and has continued ever since, except for a hiatus during the Second World War.
To mark the event here’s a clip from the Today programme on Radio 4 (Tuesday 26 March) featuring former assistant director of the Met Office and member of the Royal Meteorological Society Stan Cornford, and Helen Roberts, a Met Office meteorologist.
