The final of the BBC Radio New Comedy Award was held at The Comedy Store in London last night (9 December) and Steve Bugeja (pictured) was chosen by Radio 2 listeners to take this year’s title.

Each finalist performed a seven-minute set and then listeners had an hour to vote for their favourite.

The BBC Radio New Comedy Award is a nationwide talent search to find the best in new stand-up comedy talent. This year’s competition started with an open call, which lead to over 600 entries.
