It’s now ten years since the war in Iraq began, and to mark the date the BBC has a number of programmes looking at the war and its aftermath.
On Tuesday 26 February there’s a special Newsnight called Iraq 10 Years On, hosted by Kirsty Wark and in front of a studio audience.
BBC Radio 4 has a number of programmes marking the event too. This weekend, the Saturday Drama is The Iraq Resolution, David Morley’s dramatization of the story behind the document that persuaded the British government to go to war. It stars Richard E. Grant, Anton Lesser and Lindsey Duncan.
Also this weekend, on Sunday 3 March, BBC Correspondent Hugh Sykes returns to Iraq 10 years after the US-led invasion in After Saddam.
On Tuesday 5 March, writer and broadcaster John Kampfner and a host of leading thinkers consider what has changed globally as a result of the war and the fall of Saddam Hussein in How Iraq Changed The World.
In Archive On 4 - Iraq Tales: What the Army Learned on Saturday 9 March Rear Admiral Chris Parry uses the US army’s unique oral history archive of the Iraq war, which features interviews recorded with US service men and women at the time giving their thoughts on the war.
