Earlier on today, Director-General Tony Hall shared his vision for a future BBC in a speech given to staff and journalists in the BBC Radio Theatre in London. The speech was broadcast live on the BBC's staff TV network - the 'Ringmain'.

During the speech Tony made a number of announcements which formed part of his future strategy for the organisation including the launch of BBC One + 1, Playlister, the next generation iPlayer and a new way for audiences to access speech content from across the BBC's radio networks. There were additional announcements made about Radio 1 on iPlayer and a new investment in arts TV programming.

You can watch the entire speech on-demand via the BBC Media Centre where we've also published a transcript.

Also today, we've launched an opportunity for you to participate in a UK-wide conversation to help shape the future of the BBC. A registration form for future updates can be found on the BBC Where Next website, along with links to the main elements of Tony's speech.
