In 1938, the BBC began broadcasting in Arabic. Originally consisting of a single news bulletin, over the last 75 years it has grown into a 24-hour multimedia service which includes BBC Radio Arabic, BBC Arabic online and BBC Arabic television.
In this interview, Adel Soliman shares some of his experiences as BBC Arabic editor and recalls the enthusiastic responses from listeners to the service.
