The forth Champions League place should allways go to the FA Cup Winners.

The FA cup and it's supposed demise? - Which I haven't noticed - Since the advent of relentless, dull and low quality sports reporting, from the likes of SKY and 5 live, there has been the need to question everything. I think 5 Live are more responsible for this than any other broadcaster as they are a national entity. Please 5 Live, can you continue to subject my ears and mind to more totally incredibly dull interviews where you ask an ex footballer (usually with some speech impediment or irritating accent and no sign of basic vocabulary) To explain to us how a team will have prepared for a cup game that means nothing to them? I really, really, need to hear that for the umpteenth time. Also, can Garry Richardson please continue to refer to his ex-footballing telephone contributing guest, by name after every completely totally pointless dull question he asks - it's the worst display of fake courteous sycophancy I have witnessed. There is nothing wrong with the FA CUP. Just shut up 5 live and give us something we can listen to. For the teams having a good run, I'm sure it's a truly great and wonderful thing.

Why not take the FA cup and give it to the club with the biggest debt as they're demonstrating they're trying to win it in the fairest manner. Seems easier to me.

    I would do three things.

Firstly, give the fourth CL place to the winner. And to get round the argument that you can't give a CL place for six games instead of basing it on a 38-game season, I would bring back any number of replays for every round up to and including the semi-finals. The ultimate prize of CL qualification would make it more worthwhile to play any number of replays.

Secondly, play the semi-finals at neutral venues as used to be done.

Thirdly, move the final to the very last match slot of the season. At the moment, we have a bank holiday weekend of football at the end of May. I would expand this weekend to play the League 2 playoff final on the Friday night, the League 1 final on the Saturday, the Championship final on the Sunday and the FA Cup final to the Monday afternoon or evening. If any of the Cup finalists are also involved in play-off finals, then the play-offs could be shuffled so the team concerned has a break from the Friday night to the Monday evening.

Take the television rights off ITV and give them back to the BBC but only if the BBC gets rid opf Robbie Savage, Alan Green and any of the plethora of ex-Liverpool players currently contaminating the network

Several aspects of the FA cup have degraded it's appeal over the last decade.

Look at why the League Cup is popular:
Only the final is played at Wembley.
    The semi-finals are a 2 leg affair.
The matches are mid-week fixtures that don't clash with Premier League fixtures in the later rounds.

The final should be the end of season showpiece event (not on the same weekend as other fixtures).
Make the prize more rewarding, for example, give the 4th Champions League qualification place to the winners (too many big clubs prioritise Champions league qualification over the FA cup).

And finally, lets be honest, ITV's coverage is woefully poor in comparison to the capabilities of Sky Sports and the BBC.

    George, Brighton fan

The FA Cup should always come at the end of the season. It should be the showpiece regardless. Gaining a place in the Champions League would be pushing it too far. Into the Europa League is enough, but this should only be granted to the winner. If the winner has qualified for the Champions League, it should given to the team finishing 6th or 7th, depending on who has won the League Cup.

Also, only the final should be played at Wembley. The FA Cup is the showpiece, so give it the occasion it deserves.

The team higher in the league at the time of the draw play away is a good one.
I always look for Prem teams away to lower league clubs. Its great to see the top 6/7 clubs away at League 2 teams early on.

Ridiculous to give the 4th CL spot to the winners. Not only makes the problem worse by devaluing the winning of the competition itself but would also leave us with clubs like Wigan (no offence but not good enough) in the Champions league. I'd abolish replays and limit Wembley to just the final personally.
