"Rizzle Kicks cover" - I chose to create a cover for Rizzle Kicks as I’m an avid fan of Hip-hop music and, as a musician, respect their views on merging genres. I decided to use classic Hip-hop imagery such as the boombox and hi-tops, while keeping a contemporary urban feel. I kept the images very symmetrical to represent the fact that there are two members, but broke up the piece by using an irregular background for interest. The positioning of the boombox was crucial, as I wanted to create a halo effect above Rizzle and Sylvester. I used a mixture of digital photo manipulation techniques, utilising my knowledge of Photoshop. I’m very satisfied with the finished result and think it suits Rizzle Kicks’ style well, while respecting urban art techniques such as graffiti and stencilling.
