Scotts Green Island- Theme: The Future

An exquisite bronze horse, by Andrew Logan, from classical mythology- 'Pegasus' sits on Scotts Green Island. The Pegasus symbolisies hope for the future and the new Millennium.

The glass inlay on the wings makes reference to the glass industry past and present and the route to the historic Glass Quarter nearby. The bejeweled plume that crowns the mane was designed and cut at the renowned Stuart glassworks, adjacent to the recently restored Redhouse Cone in Wordsley.

The plinth was fabricated locally and represents a rock from Mount Parnassus where Pegasus lived. It is surrounded by Mediterranean style cypress trees to help Pegasus feel at home!

"For me, Pegasus is to do with the elements, earth and sky. It's about where we come from and where we are going to." - Andrew Logan
