Dudley UFO video "a fraud"

Footage allegedly showing an unidentified craft hovering over the Merry Hill centre has been labelled "a fraud" by a leading UFO researcher.

The minute-long film, which appeared on a local newspaper's website in October 2009, shows a triangular craft flying over a well-lit urban landscape.

The site also published the account of a Wolverhampton man who claimed to have shot the footage on his mobile whilst walking to a friend's house near the Dudley shopping centre.

The video has since made the rounds on the internet, with UFO buffs debating its authenticity.

Timothy Good, considered to be one of the country's leading authorities on the UFO and alien phenomena, says the film was not made in Dudley.

"It's a fraud," he said. "I've seen this video before. It's been on the internet for a while. This person has simply lifted the footage and passed it off as his own."

Mr. Good sent the BBC a weblink containing the 'original' footage to prove his point.

The link leads to a film posted on the YouTube site. It's identical to the 'Dudley UFO' video - except this one is titled 'Triangle UFO Paris, France' and was uploaded on 4th March 2009.

"It was definitely not made in Dudley," said Timothy. "That said, it's still one of the best videos I've seen. I was quite impressed when I saw it.

"I doubt it's genuine. You have to remember that a lot of companies have produced similar videos to this allegedly showing UFOs for promotional purposes, to bring attention to themselves."

Despite numerous attempts, we were unable to contact the man named in the newspaper article. To read the original piece, click the link below:

I have seen this exact thing over dudley. It was extremely eerie to behold such a site. As soon as I saw the newspaper article, believed that the video was real. Sceptics may think otherwise, but i say that people should be looking in the sky. Why is it never on the news about all of the swarms of fleets of ships 8 miles above our heads? People need to stop being so blind, and open their eyes to the fact that extraterestrial beings ARE real and stop listning to all this government rubbish about they may find life on another planet in 20 yrs or so, when there are aliens and humans WORKING TOGETHER in establishments around the globe.
