FaithYou are in: Black Country > Faith > Ghostbusting psychic heals the sick ![]() Alan Cox Ghostbusting psychic heals the sickBy Brett Birks A Wolverhampton psychic claims the spirit of a dead doctor takes over his body – and allows him to administer to those with severe illnesses. ![]() Alan with his cards Clairvoyant Alan Cox, aged 58, says he has helped people from all over the country recover from a range of illnesses, from simple aches and pains to terminal cancer. "The faith healing is a natural energy that comes through me," he says. "I have a doctor – Doctor David Ingles in spirit – who literally takes over my body and uses my hands. " Alan says he places his hands on the patient's body - and miracles seemingly happen. One man who has been helped by the healer is Darren Yates, a Police PR Officer. "I'd had trouble with my knees for years," Darren says. "I've had many steroid injections and all sorts of things. I met Alan and he offered to help. I was sceptical. "He put his hands on my knees and closed his eyes and I felt a warmth. No word of a lie it worked and so far I've had no more trouble. Clearly he has a gift." ![]() Card reading Alan says he has also helped a lady with a terminal illness: "One lady in Worcestershire had cancer of the stomach and she had two sessions with me and she had only been given months to live. They couldn't quite explain it at the hospital but she's totally cured now and getting on with her life. "I accept my ability but know it's not me – I'm just being used as a channel – but I still think it's incredible." Aside from his 'psychic surgery' abilities, Alan does one-to-one card reading sessions and along with his wife Anne, who also claims to be a psychic, conducts 'house clearings' – visiting haunted buildings to banish away troublesome spirits. Spirit messageHe first discovered his connection with the spirit world in 1996, after receiving a message from his 'spirit guides'. ![]() Alan with his dowser "My wife had been in the house by herself and was pushed down the stairs by an unknown force," he explains. "The following week a Channel 5 programme started called 'House Busters' about people clearing bad spirits from houses. To cut a long story short, I contacted the programme and spiritualist David Ashworth from the show came down and they did a clearing in our house. We got on really well with David; we just clicked. "He told me who my spirit guides were and we had a message from them saying we had a lifetime's work ahead of us. A few days later I had all these messages bombarding my head and it started from there. "For the next four years I was trying to understand what was going on. In 2000 I packed in my job and started on this journey. I've been given the ability to heal people and I've had some remarkable success with it and 'cleared' many houses, restaurants and shops." ![]() The dowser House clearingA clearing consists of Alan and Anne methodically visiting each room of a haunted house in the company of the owners and performing a type of ritual to banish away the spirits. "A whole house can take anywhere between two and four hours to clear," he says. "Anne is very good at picking up the energy. I use this tool – a dowser – and link up with the spirits and send them into the light. "I've got hundreds of letters from grateful people. There have been so many examples where the occupiers were just terrified of what was happening. "About three years back we went to a hotel and the manager and manageress were really concerned as guests were having horrible experiences in one of the rooms. There was blood running down the walls; it was a total nightmare. We went in and everything settled down." ![]() Where the 'portal' is CredibilityAlan and Anne believe they have a 'portal' in their house that acts as a pathway for spirits of children to cross into our world. They want to help those who may be experiencing strange paranormal or spiritual events. "If somebody is looking for a way to discredit me they will always find a way," he says. "The only thing that I can say is that I've helped hundreds of people. We've made friends up and down the country – strangers – who've come into our lives. "I feel that there’s a lot of people out there who have problems with bad energies in their homes and ghosts who don't know who to turn to. There’s a lot of charlatans out there unfortunately who prey on people who have problems. ![]() Alan reads the cards "With the healing there are people who've tried all different avenues and want alternative treatment. In this life of ours there are things that perhaps cannot be explained. "But there is someone out there who can give some sort of insight into what they're going through."
