Everyone working together to clean up
Sandwell's Big Spring Clean 2008
Last year more than 2,250 people volunteered to lend a hand in a spring clean of their local area in April 2007. Find out how you can get involved with Sandwell's plans for a clean up this year.

Sandwell Council wants to ask you if there's an area, park or street in your town or neighbourhood that would benefit from a spring clean?
If the answer is yes, why not nominate the area for Sandwell's Big Spring Clean?
Once you have nominated an area, get prepared to roll up your sleeves and have some fun with other people from your local area at a litter-picking event.
You can help Sandwell sparkle with the help of other residents, community groups, schools and businesses during March and April.
Painting can be fun!
The idea is if everyone can pull together then they can make Sandwell a cleaner place to live and work in.
The campaign's success recently won a communications award at the annual PRide awards. It won top prize for community relations in the Midlands.
Councillor Mahboob Hussain, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods said:
"We would like to thank all the people who took part in the Big Spring Clean last year.
Youngsters working together to clean up
"We need to work with Sandwell residents and businesses to deal with the problem of litter and educate those throwing litter not to throw it in the first place.
"A minority of people are spoiling the environment for others and we need to unite to make sure the borough is kept, clean green and litter free."
