A unique blend of old-school rock and 'n' roll with a hint of modern punk-rock, the five piece set have been the single most requested group to appear on BBC WM Introducing in 2007.

"I'll be honest, three months ago I hadn't heard of them," said Presenter Brett Birks.

"Then one week Louise and I asked listeners to text in who their favourite unsigned band was. We were bombarded with messages about this group The Fake Tracies.

"We got hold of their demo and began playing the tracks. The response got even bigger. They're proper old school rock 'n' roll, harking back to some of the great classic rock metal bands.

"They're a great live act too. Real energy and charisma - a proper performance rather than just a group of lads on stage playing music. That's why we asked them to be part of our night at The Robin in November."

Forming in 2002, The Fake Tracies originally began playing covers of modern indie and rock bands before producing their own material.

Speaking live on BBC WM Introducing, vocalist John Davis explained how they got their unusual yet catchy name.

"The lads went to a snooker club where they play gigs. They went in and said: 'Can we speak to Tracy?' The woman behind the bar said: 'Which one?' They replied 'The Tracy who books the gigs' to which the woman behind the bar said: 'Oh, the real Tracy!' The name just sprung from that."

The Fake Tracies are busy gigging around Birmingham and The Black Country area. They return home to Wolverhampton playing live on Saturday 22nd December 2007.
