The Cubans

The Wolverhampton rockers debuted some new songs live on BBC WM Introducing, days after supporting the Bluetones at the Wulfrun. Listen!

The Cubans formed in 2006 when members Chris, Mike, Tom and Matt met whilst studying A-Levels at St. Edmund's Roman Catholic School in Wolverhampton.

Their sound has been compared to that of the Arctic Monkeys and over the last three years they've gigged extensively around the West Midlands and are building a loyal following.

The highlight so far has been a support slot for Britpop chart-toppers the Bluetones at wolverhampton's Wulfrun Hall on Saturday 7th March 2009.

Speaking live on BBC WM Introducing, Chris said:

"It was brilliant. We really, really enjoyed the night. It was about 40 times busier than I thought it was going to be. We've had quite a lot of good feedback from the night and it's done us the world of good.

"We didn't talk to them for long but they seemed really sound guys. You could tell that they're in sort of a different league from the bands we're used to playing with. I think we did ourselves justice on the night. It's the first time we'd played the venue and I'd say it was the biggest gig we've done to date."

The Cubans played four songs live on BBC WM Introducing: 'Storm In Paradise', 'Never Made A Sound', 'Always Torn' and 'Please Don't Start Again'.
