BBC WM clinched a deal with Radio 2's Janice Long to present a programme every Saturday. She now presents her own show every Saturday from Birmingham's Mailbox. Janice was the first ever female presenter on Top of the Pops and the first female ever to have her own daily show on BBC Radio 1. Janice presents her own show every Saturday on BBC WM, as well as presenting her own music show every week night for Radio 2. The Janice Long Show on BBC WM is between 9.00 am to 12 noon. After stints as a waitress, an air hostess and a grape picker, her career proper kicked off with Radio Merseyside. Janice has worked on a variety of TV and radio shows since, including GLR, XFM, Live Aid and the X-factor. "My radio career all started with BBC Local Radio and it's great to be coming back to my roots," said Janice. "Although I'm a Liverpudlian, I've been living with my family in Birmingham for over five years and working here for even longer. "After listening to BBC WM for all these years, I'm finally be able to contribute and get under the skin of local issues." BBC WM's Janice Long Show is a mix of extraordinary stories from ordinary people, plus a selection of her own music and discussions around the issues of the week.
