Tim and Caroline, both from Wolverhampton, became The Yam Yams in 2004, after meeting at Bournemouth University.

Tim does vocals and guitar, Caroline hits the drums. They create stripped-down modern folky-pop songs. They've been building a fan-base by playing, mostly, in London. They recently supported Faithless vocalist Pauline Taylor. Heliotone records released their debut, 'At Home With The Yam Yams', on 8" clear vinyl, in August 2005. It sold out almost immediately.

An extract from their 'Losing Today' review of 'At Home With', reads: "Best of the quartet though is the gem like ‘Cry’, frail and fragile it may be but this is a powerfully tragic nugget that twists at your heart strings... An excellent debut." When they came in to BBC WM, at The Mailbox, they played two tracks live on Jimmy Franks' evening show (although it was presented by Nikki Tapper that night); 'Someone' and 'Sunshine Girl'.
