Hailing from Detroit, Electric Six formed in 1996 and were originally known as The Wildbunch. Before they tasted success they were forced to change their name due to a legal dispute. The band rejected names like The Carbohydrates, The Sex Stars of 1977 and The Turkeys in favour of their current moniker.

Led by frontman Dick Valentine, the band features an ever changing lineup, which may well include Tait Nucleus (keyboards), John R. Dequindre (bass), Johnny Na$hinal (lead guitar) and The Colonel (guitar) and new drummer The Next Level.

After playing on the local scene for years, the band finally hit the big time. With the help of fellow Detroit native Jack White, they scored a number 2 UK hit in 2003 with 'Danger! High Voltage'.

More outrageous video antics followed with 'Gay Bar' and third single 'Dance Commander', both taken from their album 'Fire'.

Now the band return for a tilt at the Christmas number one, with their cover of Queen's 'Radio Ga Ga'. The track is released on 13 December and a new album at the beginning of 2005.
