FACTS
tiny

- The Black Country museum was established in 1975.

- It's said that The Black Country gained its name in the 19th century when thousands or furnaces and chimneys filled the air with smoke and the mining of coal, irinstone, fireclay and llimestome turned the ground inside out, creating large expanses of dereliction.

- Mining in the Black Country ceased in the 20th century.
