When a factory or a whole industry closes, an area can go from 100% employment to 100% unemployment overnight. This has consequences for the area and its people.Exam questions on this topic should be discussed under three headings, namely:

  • Social effects
  • Economic effects
  • Environmental effects.

This following exercise will help you to categorise these effects correctly.
