Exam Tips

  • It is important to read the questions carefully so that you will know what to listen for.

  • Make sure you understand exactly what the question is asking so you will choose the correct answer.

  • Don't forget to answer all parts of the question.

  • In the weeks before the exam it is wise to listen to passages. This will improve your listening skills and widen your vocabulary.

  • Perhaps your teacher will be able to give you listening passages to take home and practise.

  • You can use past papers to help you. You can download a past paper and audio file (mp3) from the SQA website. Follow the transcript and listen to the audio file to get used to hearing and understanding spoken Gaelic.

  • Try the Intermediate 1 and 2 past papers as well.
