For your biology exam you should be able to

  • state that cell division is a means of increasing the number of cells in an organism
  • state that cell division is called mitosis, and that, like all other cell activities mitosis is controlled by the nucleus
  • state that each of the two cells produced by mitosis has a complete set of chromosomes and explain why this is important
  • describe the stages of mitosis
