The
Birmingham St Patrick's Day Parade is a celebration of all that
is great about Irish traditions and culture. It's the annual showcase
for the city's huge Irish community. This year it was held on Sunday
16th March 2003.
This
is the 8th year that Birmingham has been filled with green and shamrock
clad people and irish pipes and drums.
Birmingham
St Patrick's Day Parade is one of the biggest in the world, and
this year it was even bigger as it joined with the World Championship
City Concert - 11 hours of free entertainment to celebrate the 9th
IAAF World Championships in Athletics coming to the city.
The
Festival and Parade will brought the warmth and humour of a village
get together and a community having the "craic" - music,
singing, dancing and fun.
