An Aerial photos of Pebble Mill
Plans for a technology park on the site of the BBC's Pebble Mill studios have been unveiled by Advantage West Midlands and the owner of the land, Calthorpe Estates.

FACTS

The Pebble Mill studios have staged several BBC shows, most famously the Pebble Mill at One lunchtime chat show, which ran from 1973 to 1986.

The BBC's answer to This Morning with Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, Good Morning with Anne and Nick, also came from Pebble Mill.

The Beeb will be leaving its home of thirty years towards the end of the year for a state-of-the-art new set up at Birmingham's Mailbox development.

AWM's planning application includes a technology and science park, tennis courts, sports fields and a new road from the A38 Bristol Road to the rest of the development.

The BBC has been at Pebble Mill for 30 years
The chief executive of Advantage West Midlands, John Edwards, says: "We saw the redevelopment of Pebble Mill as the flagship development for high technology business."

Countless programmes have been made at the BBC's Midlands Headquarters, from All Creatures Great and Small in the seventies, to Doctors now. It's also the home of Midlands Today and BBC WM. The BBC's lease on the site runs out at the end of 2004. Detailed applications will be submitted later this year.
