The Sing-a-long-a show features on-screen lyrics and a free goody bag. Turn up in costume and you could win the pre-show competition - and see yourself in the BBC Birmingham photo gallery (coming after the show).

Women in fancy dress

Squeeze into your fishnets and burst out of your corset as you warble, with hundreds of others: 'Sweet Transvestite', 'Whatever Happened To Saturday Night?', 'Science Fiction Double Feature', 'Toucha Toucha Touch Me' and, of course - 'The Time Warp'.

Made in 1975, the RHPS film stars Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Richard O'Brien and Meatloaf. The show at the Alex is a spin off from Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music. The format has also been used for Fiddler on the Roof, Moulin Rouge, Annie, The Wizard of Oz and Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - which is also coming to Birmingham (click here for more).

Fancy dress

It's not compulsory to dress up but many people do. Dip into the wardrobe of your imagination - there is a competition for the best outfit. Time to fish out your suspenders!

The warm-up

There is a half-hour pre-film show during which the host leads you through a vocal warm-up, prepares you for the film and judges the fancy dress competition. Everyone receives a goody bag with special props!

Warning: it's a bit rude!

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 12 certificate film in the UK and so you can only attend if you are 12 or older. The film is rather naughty and may not be suitable for the faint-hearted (or prudish).
