art creations at the ArtsFest Gallery in The Mailbox and the Craft

restaurants around the city will be offering samples of their tasty
fare.

There's
a great Saturday night line up, including Soweto Kinch, who recently
won two BBC Jazz Awards. He says, "The two days spent in Birmingham
at ArtsFest has become a highlight of the arts calendar."
"It
offers a very necessary platform for artists like me and live box
musicians, demonstrating the vitality of arts in Birmingham."
He's on stage at 8.30pm in Centenary Square.
Saturday
night also includes a performance from Birmingham Royal Ballet and
a screening of the Last Night Of The Proms from the Royal Albert
Hall.
There
are dozens of workshops where you can get creative, learning new
skills from how to lindy-hop and Elizabethan dance to screenwriting.
Under 12s at ArtsFest's magical Secret Garden (behind The Rep theatre)
can take part in dance, music and craft classes and join the Off
Our Trolley Carnival Parade.

Reggae
favourite Pato Banton will get you in the mood for a great reggae
Sunday when there will be an evening showcase of artists from The
Specials, The Beat, Musical Youth and more.
There are Reggae Rockz family events all day on Sunday. Visitors
can explore Birmingham's musical history with African drumming workshops,
Anansi poetry, steel bands and dance demonstrations at the ICC.

And
as those summer nights draw to a close, why not catch an outdoor
screening in Centenary Square of the film Grease with Olivia Newton-John
and John Travolta. Get your Pink Lady and T-Bird outfits on and
join the party!
