The
Latin American Festival in Birmingham, now in its twelfth year,
has been organised by ABS Latin Promotions with support from Birmingham
City Council, the England Arts Council and other sponsors as part
of the Lord Mayor's Show weekend.
The
festival was founded by Peruvian born Annie Bazan-De-Fisher (the
woman behind ABS Promotions) and has become an established summer
event in Birmingham.
Salsa
and Brazilian bands and dancers (local and international) will be
playing in Centenary Square on Saturday 3 July from 4pm - 10pm.

Visitors
will be able to join in the carnival atmosphere by taking part in
salsa workshops lead by Mauricio Reyes and the team from Latin Motion.
Stalls
in the square will show off the arts of Latin America and visitors
will be able to sample food and drink.
Party
into the night
The
festival celebration salsa party takes place at Ipanema on Broad
Street, Birmingham, on Sunday 4 July 2004 from 7pm - 12am.
There
will be salsa dancing shows throughout the evening and a workshop
for the public at 7.30pm.
Admission
for the party is £4. Tickets for the party can be bought at
the Latin stall during the festival, or at Ipanema.
