FACTS

Artist Faye Claridge has made a quiz sheet to help visitors imagine the past life of Blakesley Hall.

During her residency in August you can borrow a camera and take part to explore the Hall and to be part of an exhibition.

Faye Claridge will be in the Hall 20 - 22 August.

She is also making a new film about Blakesley Hall, which will feature conversations with visitors and staff.

The film and the photographs will form part of an exhibition at Blakeskey Hall from 1 - 31 October 2004.

Faye Claridge is an artist who works with ideas about history and evidence. She makes videos, photographic works and installations and often works directly with the public in non-art locations.

Blakesley Hall is on Blakesley Road, Yardley. It is open Tuesday - Sunday 11.30am - 4pm and is closed Mondays. Facilities include tea shop, interactive children's exhibition, guided tours and shop. Entrance and activities are free.

Based on imagining details about who used to live at the Hall, the exhibition will be shown in Blakesley Hall's visitor centre from 1 - 31 October 2004 and will feature everyone that takes part in the weekends' activities.

Exploring Blakesley Hall

"Lots of people have lived near Blakesley Hall for years and have either never visited or don't expect it to have changed since their last visit. But it's changing all the time and the range of activities for visitors is really good.

"Over the summer in 2004 there are excellent interactive displays for children and my project is just adding to the many activities visitors can enjoy. The place is really buzzing and it's great to be a part of it. I hope everyone takes the chance to come and get involved."

"I've never seen people spend so long in the hall or enjoying their visit so much as when they're doing the photo quiz Faye has designed.

"It's great how much people really love doing it and look at the hall in a different way. It makes them think and is very fun." Barbara, member of staff at Blakesley Hall.

Faye will be at Blakesley Hall this weekend - August 20 - 22. Grab a camera and explore Blakesley Hall and your work could be featured in the final exhibition.
