Fans of 70s band Abba will be in for a treat on New Year's Eve as tribute band Björn Again are headlining the celebrations down at Millennium Point.

The world's most famous tribute band, who have done more than 3,000 live shows in 50 countries world-wide, will do an hour long show performing Abba favourites such as 'Waterloo', 'Dancing Queen', and 'The Winner Takes it All'.

They will be joined at the seven-hour, free family party by Birmingham born R&B sensation Jamelia and Irish boy band D-side. Local singer Jason Ensa will also be performing live.

The event, organised by Birmingham City Council, kicks off at 6pm with a special hour of children's entertainment featuring top TV stars the Hoobs, plus characters from Beatrix Potter and Bananas in Pyjamas.

Other highlights include a special break dancing routine by Bboys attic in association with Jameson, the New Year's Eve edition of EastEnders on the giant screens, and video footage of New Year's Eve celebrations from around the world.

On the stroke of midnight revellers will hear the chimes of Big Ben and then be treated to a sensational fireworks display.

There will also be a funfair from 3pm until 1am and hot snacks and beverages, including alcoholic drinks will be on sale throughout the evening.

It is a free event so tickets are not required but Millennium Square will be closed once capacity is reached.

Travel West Midlands will be running a special night bus service from 12.25am until 4am and taxi ranks will be set up near Millennium Point.
