Chinese New Year or the 'Spring Festival' is the oldest and most important celebration in the Chinese calendar.

22 January 2004 is the first day in the Year of the Monkey. It is Year 4701 by Chinese calendar.

First - The Rat or Mouse
The Rat or Mouse - 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996 Intelligent, quick-witted and hardworking. Ambitious. Family orientated. A little insecure, lives for the moment and rarely plans for the future. Can lack boldness.
Second - The Cow or Ox
Patient, strong principles. Not often swayed from beliefs. Demand loyalty from friends. Born leaders, work hard to achieve goals. Relationships tend to be long term. The Cow or Ox - 1925, 1937,  1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997
Third - The Tiger
