Nature in your neighbourhood

A nature and allotment arts project in Ladywood are encouraging local residents to create and share artwork inspired by autumn on their doorstep for a community exhibition on Monday 26th October 2009.

Over the summer community organisations Spring to Life and Karis Neighbour Scheme ran several community arts projects in Ladywood where local residents visited local wildlife and allotment sites and produced artwork inspired by nature. Some of the work including paintings and sculptures, will be displayed at an exhibition on Monday 26th October 2009 at the Ladywood Community Centre.

Enjoying nature on the doorstep

Inspired by autumn

As part of the exhibition local people living in Ladywood, South West Edgbaston and central Birmingham are also being encouraged to create and share their paintings, photographs, sculptures, collages and embroidery inspired by autumn wildlife and nature in and around the local area.

Nature on a plate

School children in the area have also been producing nature on a plate exhibits where that have been collecting natural things in the area and displaying them on 9 inch plate, these will also be on display at the exhibition.

Bring your nature artwork along

If you live in Ladywood, Central Birmingham or South West Edgbaston take your artwork along to the Ladywood Community Centre, St Vincent Street West, B16 8RP on Monday 26th October between 10 - 11am.

The FREE exhibition is open to everyone and will include presentations, art workshops and prizes throughout the day.
